Where did you and your car go today

Sometimes I swear the salt is deeper than the snow up here in Ontario.
When we lived in Regina Saskatchewan, back when Jesus was a baby, 1957 thru 1964, I remember a green 50 chevy in the ditch with snow up almost past the windows with the roof being the only thing you could really see, It was in that ditch till spring, froze in harder than a wedding dick. God love that country and I do, but 45 degrees below zero is just not right. I remember chains on tires and sand and asking when God was coming back!!

Went to the local cars and coffee today. Great weather, a few other vintage cars. A couple gen 2 corvettes, a nice Olds 442 and some 70s Porsches. Oh and a guy with a 1929 Packard. I did a bad job getting pics this time, but did grab this one of mine.

Took the 440 to Canadian Tire and then Shoppers Drug Mart this morning. Came out of both places to the car surrounded by "curious Georges" and took me 1/2 an hour to get away from both. Hope the milk isn't sour.. lol Then took the Wife for an evening cruise in the Bird. We got rain last night so wasn't missing the chance at using a dust free gravel road...

I'm a little late to post, it was last Saturday evening, but I got my car out for the first time of the season to go to a local cruise. After 5+ months of winter and cold and rain, the first cruise or show of the year is always a treat! The car fired up pretty quick and ran like a champ. This was only the second event I've had it to since getting it last year and people there enjoyed checking it out.

I've learned to love my green goblin but damn if those gen 2's aren't sexy in red!

Yesterday afternoon, I took my son's '87 GMC hoopty-truck to a buddies' house to get a new full exhaust welded up under it. Driving over was with open headers. Three miles worth of seriously excessive noise! A eighth-mile or quarter-mile run would be one thing. But three miles was simply deafening! LOL!

After five hours and a couple of beers, the JEGS 2-1/4" box of exhaust parts and the two cherry bomb mufflers were on! My friend Tony is a pipefitter by trade, and can build an exhaust system second to none. One thing we found was the passenger side header gasket was blown out, so even after the install, the truck was still pretty loud. I've got a gasket on order, and will put that on later this week.

But, boy, does the truck sound good from the rear! A nice, mellow tone like my old '68 D100 had. I miss that!

One thing we found was a missing rear shock(!) and a crack in the frame near the right rear shock mount. That crack looks truly evil, due to the truck being up on a two-post lift. Never saw that crack until then! Next thing is to remove the bed and weld and plate that crack up, plus install two new Rancho shocks. I like the Chevy and Dodge "square-body" trucks a lot. I hope my son keeps this!
