Where did you and your car go today

Drove the Imperial around a bit of Friday (I have every other Friday off!), until the outside temps got up to the ridiculous range! Also discovered I have pink eye going on in both eyes...oh, yay! So, for Saturday, I rested and watched a little TV.

Sunday was a cruise up to the Kicker speaker factory in Stillwater, OK. There were about 400 participants. The guy that promotes this has a monthly event somewhere in OK - the location varies monthly. Last year's event in Stillwater was cancelled due to the Chyna plague, so attendance this year was something to look forward to. Since this event involves mostly late-model vehicles, my VW Passat fit right in!

A pretty good weekend, all things considered.

Well the Texas “cold” front spurred a last minute decision to take something without air conditioning to work today. It’s amazing what difference 10 degrees makes!

Unfortunately my GTX is down with ignition issues, so no American big block burnouts this independence weekend. But the only thing as American as giant engines, with too much power, is the good ol pickup. Especially one built to defy the rules. So I’m taking it out to some of the festivities. Happy birthday America!

I always start out, I have this friend or I know this guy. This time it's, a friend of mine knows this guy that knows this warehouse full of these cars that were heading to Mecum. They stage them at this location before loading to head out. I believe these were heading to Orlando. I went for a cruise and got there late, some were loaded and gone. This warehouse at one point was full of cars.

I went nowhere in the car, but for a moment, I thought Pops might have popped over the border to visit me.

Long overdue, but today the third generation got to drive the Bee for the first time and I let him go solo while I followed in the '66. Should take about a week to get that **** eating grin off his face!

Drove about 80 miles to help pull a honda trans for a rebuild, scoped and adjusted the tune on the car, then into town for dinner and brews, and ..... live music to boot. I even got the parking spot right in front of the door. A good day.

I spoke to the guy that built my coronet a few days ago, after driving it all over the country he sold it to the guy I bought it from. He now has a blue 1965 coronet with a 6.4 and has about 47 thousand miles on it. He told me he gets right at 25 MPG. Both mine and his use the truck 545RFE transmission because of it's size.
