You are soo luck to live in paradise.... it's been cold out here and i go into hibernation mode, haven't touched my car in like 2 months now.. hard to get motivated to get back to work soon:)

Went out today and went into town and then for a cruise on the highway for about 75 miles.

Planning a drive today as I was unable to get it ready to drive to work on Friday.

We'll see how that goes.

...after I unload my truck from a somewhat disappointing swap meet run at Melbourne yesterday.

So it wasn’t just our Decatur swap meet that was sad. That’s really unfortunate.

The vendor spots were all full. I was late, so I got put in the overflow area that should have been the car coral.
There were only 5 cars in the coral- a 120,000 dollar T/A Challenger, a $70,000 GTX, a volkswagon, a moded 57 chevy, and a 40K 69 Bee that was said to be "perfect metal" before it was resorted, but had the quarter seam bubbling on one side and the wheel trim screws broken off in the quarters.

About half of the vendors were chevy parts or non-auto stuff.
I sold $35. The spot cost $35.
Full tank of gas there and back at 13 MPG.

I had nibbles on my cheap 73/74 Charger fenders, the reasonably priced 71 Charger bumper (guy came back three times) and the vintage tire machine (three times that guy came back, too). I also said "make an offer", But none sold.

The high point was seeing another 2000 Dakota R/T on my way out of town and talking to the owner while stopped at a couple of traffic lights.

I guess that counts as "where I went in my Mopar" yesterday.

It was beautiful day last Saturday for our car club's Winter Cruise, so I took my '67 R/T out for the day. Of the 15 or so cars on the cruise, I was the only guy brave (or crazy) enough to take my oldie out in February. Blue skies, dry roads free of salt residue. Ironically, the tour started just around the corner from where I live at the Gaylea Dairy Museum. This building houses many exhibits from the earlier to latter days of dairy farming in Elgin County. From there we went just down the road to a local fruit wine maker's, where club members were able to sample wine and cheese and make purchases. Our next stop was to be for lunch at nearby New Sarum Diner. Since we had an hour to kill, and I know all the back roads in the area, I lead the gang on a scenic drive over secondary paved roads to the diner. These were hilly, curvy roads down through a couple of valleys and over a couple of single lane bridges. Most of the people on the cruise had never seen these roads before and had positive comments on the drive. The Diner served us a chicken buffet dinner with all the fixings, china place settings, and real table clothes. It was a little expensive, but very tasty and filling.
From New Sarum Diner, we proceeded to the Dowler-Karn Petroliana Museum on the outskirts of St. Thomas. Dowler-Karn has been the Imperial Oil (ESSO) dealer in the area forever. Jack Karn and his wife were dedicated to preserving some of the local history of the business, and to this end built a museum in one end of their service building, that is free to the public. There are restored gas pumps, gas trucks, die cast and metal fuel truck toys, and much more to see. Our last stop of the day was at Wight Manufacturing in St. Thomas. This large shop builds chassis for CASCAR racers. It also maintains 5 racing teams (10 cars). I could see that this hobby is waaay more expensive than what we are doing. Our tour guide said that the chassis started at $120,000. I have lived around and worked in St. Thomas for years, and never knew this place was there. All in all, a very interesting day out with club friends.

Thanks for sharing!! I would have enjoyed that myself!

Nightmare in Bakersfield California. Stranded for a day. Made it home blasting through a window of no snow. New addition. Cream puff bought from @Dennis H who took great care of this car.
