Who’s doing what in the off-season.

We'll see...I'm looking to start a new and my last car, another super stock project but this will be a bit different from the other class racers I've had over the years. It'll be a full blown crazy prep car with all the little class sneaky tricks and some not-so-known tricks. More than anything, it'll eat some serious time and will it be worth it?!? Heh, heh...time will tell! Hope y'all have a greatly blessed Holiday season...wb

Stage3, not sure if this is one of the paints on your list to try.... but I am pretty happy with how this matches the old Race Hemi color:

it also seems MUCH more durable when it dries. The only thing I had issues with is trying to put a second coat on after it dried, it didn't like that!
But, the Omaha Orange is as close as I could find. That is actually the original color that was "Race Hemi Orange" from what I understand.

My stuff is still at the machine shop. Not rushing him at this point, but getting a little anxious. Spent last night varifying installed ht on the new TF270’s for the Howards / PAC springs.

Today the axles came out of the Dana, time to upgrade to 5/8” studs. The 1/2” ARP studs that came out were straight, not bent at all, unlike the previous set.

I started off by making a jig that bolted to my old drill press base. 2X2X1/4” tubing, rock solid. Alignment with a 7/16” transfer punch that nicely slipped into the 1/2” fine threads.

Spent lots of time getting it dead set right and solid, end of axle below resting on a bottle jack.

Studs haven’t shown up yet but when they do, ready to install.
Yeah the dead centre ain’t pretty but for today it kept the tap in line just fine.

3 holes finished, will finish up the rest tomorrow. Making progress. 727 Low-gear set is on it’s way back from repair, soon things will again be in full go mode.

I'm working, and continuing to buy/order parts for my 572 build.
I have more of this thread to read, but I want to thank @malex for eliminating the stress I had only in my mind, should I need a vacuum pump. My "boogie man" was my CVF Wraptor serpentine belt and accessories system, and the question of how could I possibly drive a vacuum pump if I needed to. IF I can't drive it somehow with the serpentine belt, and honestly I'm not sure I'd even consider that now, it seems like I could just do something like this and problem solved.
Thanks!

Bad news on the brakes. Over here it’s -39 with the chill and headed to -42 tonight. One time on my Cheby the starter snout bust off when I hit the key, on a night like this.

I just pulled in a dead Chevrolet.
Battery's bulged out like the Michelin man
Everything busted off in the drivers door..
Never mind the front end rebuild it came for
It's going to be a whole ceremony
