This pic is the recent past location of the F-22s
We now "moved" down the street and the new Northrup Bomber, B-21 will be located here as soon as it arrives..
I spent the last 16 years in this compound, 4 buildings, 2 on each side, 2 opposite.
That building is 1864
The building to the left is 1870
Yup, soon the be the new Northrup B-21 Bomber

Love the Corsair. Don't have any pics of the full-size, but I have some of my 1/32 and 1/72 scale plastic models.

Just got a message that 'Memphis Belle' is supposed to be done with restoration at USAF museum in spring '2018!!

A few years ago I was covering an RC event at the old Castle AFB. The P-51 "Grim Reaper" made a few passes and landed.

This year "Old Glory" took off and made one pass and flew away. Came to find out that it's based here.

I'm hoping to be at The Air Force Museum to see her unveiled. We saw here and The Swoose in the resto area. Be a site to see all three combat veteran ,and three different model Fortresses in the same spot.

Prototype for P-51

The P-51 was brought about because the war dept. wanted North American to build P-40's under license from Curtiss. North American's answer was that they could build their own bird easier & @ less expense than reramping to produce Warhawks.

A veteran of Israels independence fight. This is an original German ME109 that was used against the Arabs to defend the Jewish State in 49' (?) They had only a few pilots and fewer aircraft, but they held off and beat less experienced pilots. Most of Israel's pilots were WW2 American aviators.
