B-17F straight off Douglas war production line. Douglas, Martin & Lockheed produced B-17's along with Boeing. That's my Old Man flying it. He racked up 1300 hrs in B-17's alone. He also test flew Douglas A-20's & SBD's among others.

Sadly, we are not a Salt Lake....

2 Dry Lake beds
1. Rogers dry lake bed
2. Muroc dry Lake bed

We used to have the "SCTA" Southern Calif Timing Association race out here mid 90s
But after 911 and some advanced development programs, the Edward AFB and Dry Lakes are now CLOSED to everyone except Military and Civilians working here.
Okay...technically Rogers is an 'endorheic desert salt pan', but it used to be a lake. :)
