pretty much the best ever flying scenes in any movie IMO, I have the Blu Ray, the director purposely shot it like that because he wanted the F14s and T6s in the same shots, to make it realistic. They have the pilots being interviewed too, if you remember the shot of the F14 doing a Falling Leaf down to the water, they were asked about that, the pilot made it sound like he did that on purpose, but you can tell by the other pilots reactions that it was a mistake.
my father worked at Boeing 60 to 95, special projects engineer, flew most of his life, pilots license at 16, Air Force 1955 to 60, retired and was a docent at Seattle Museum of Flight, helped restore the B17, B29, 307.
Before they tore down Plant 2 we got to crawl around inside both the B17 and B29. Let me tell you, I cant imagine a combat mission in a B17, those kids had some balls. more pics available if wanted

Quiz night fundraiser at our kids' primary school a few years ago. I won best costume and our team won the quiz by a reasonable margin.
The theme was "What you were wearing when the ship went down". My prop is going quite fast courtesy of my Makita battery drill secretly hidden inside the fuselage.
