B2 fly-over as seen at the Rose Parade Pasadena today. Awesome.

My one cousin flew into Dayton airfield years ago for an airshow with a B-52 and had to go to Wright-Patterson to refuel before the airshow began. He said that 10-20 minute flight cost more than I made in a year.

An update for Memphis Belle at Dayton.(for Auggie, ski, blade, etc.)The new (free from United Technology!)de-icer boots are set to be installed. Only one guy has any experience putting these on from UT, ahem, my oldest, well have to see how it goes. Update sure to follow because he has a bunch of engineers going along with no real idea of what needs to be done. He says he only needs 1 helper that can take instruction!!

An update on ‘Memphis Belle’, last set of de-icer boots made for a B-17. Screw down boots are going away, DC-3’s and Navy E-2’s(?) are still being made.

Landed at Cleve-Hopkins one time in icy conditions and was glad the pilot landed right at the threshold for max stopping distance. The woman next to me said it kinda abrupt/hard, I said better than trying to feather it in & not have enuf distance to stop.

Apparently the Navy had a tradition - if a pilot mistakenly landed on the wrong carrier, the plane was covered with graffiti before it was returned.

That's not The Swoose, you can see a top turret, and the D's never had one. Work was suspended on The Swoose several years ago. Hoping that when The Belle is finished, work will start up again.

this is the newest video showing the latest on The Memphis Belle. At the 4:00 mark The Swoose can be seen in background.

Sorry, got updated; 'Swoose' is fuselage at back/back of photo. I wasn't too clear. My oldest was there when the swastika got painted on the 'Belle'.
