Snakie!
I LOVE the German Tri-Wing !
Holy cow, imagine flying those?
No one understood Hypoxia!
No O2, cold weather, engine would "ice up"
Visibility was poor, oil in your face and on your goggles....
80 to 90 mph!

While that seems like a bit of a blow to national pride super-bee_ski, considering that it cost about $1.5 billion per space shuttle flight, I think Nasa is getting a bargain at those Russian rates. Fortunately the prospect of much less costly private flights should be here in the next couple of years thanks to SpaceX. http://www.spacex.com/crew-dragon

Edwards AFB history for some of you guys:

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- On Aug. 16, 1948 the XF-89 Scorpion made its first flight, flown by Northrop test pilot Fred C. Bretcher. The twin-jet night fighter was selected by the Air Force after a fly-off with the XF-87 and the Navy’s Douglas XF3D-1 Skyknight because of its potential for development.

Just remember this, under President Barrack Hussein Obama, America has to pay Russia 26 million dollars per person to place our astronauts in the International Space Station!
We can not put a person in space!

STOP THE MADNESS!
Yep we use to be the world leaders in the space race &
now we have to hitch a damn ride...

With a communist county's ship, who was once our major rival/foe...

That's a freaken' stab in the back/eyes of all the great men & women
that sacrificed to get the USA into space & return safely...

Go NASA...
Go USAF & Go Navy

Speaking of the ISS, this is what a candle flame looks like up there in zero G compared to here on earth.
