Is that a photoshop effort? Whatever it was it seems like nothing built in Britain; it shows the same inverted V-12 engine placement and nose as the Daimler-Benz in the 109 with the same fat paddle blade prop. Interesting looking with the bubble canopy.[/QUOTE
I just learned of this hybrid a couple of weeks ago so it was real.
The Japanese copy of the ME-262.
They didn't get a German sample. They were actually sent blueprints for the plane and engines (both the Junkers Jumo 004 and BMW 003) but they never arrived; the submarine carrying them was sunk. All their work was done by trial and error based on earlier observations but there are differences. The Japanese jet, the Nakajima Kikka didn't have the swept back wings of the ME 262, and was slightly smaller. The first prototype flew only once, the day after Hiroshima was bombed. No other copies flew, although several were nearing completion before the war ended. Some were sent to the USA for study, at least one is still there at the Paul E. Garber Preservation, Restoration and Storage Facility. Chrysler actually received a couple of the jet engines after the war for testing purposes as well.everything I read "back in the day," said they imported one, so if you look at the pictures the ones they have ( or making ) would have been a surprise to the b29's in 6 -12 months
Tdidn't have the swept back wings of the ME 262, .
