The original design had conventional straight wings, they ended up being swept back in part due to changes in the engines. To keep the proper balance, the engines had to shift back, but to save major redesign to the wing roots and torque boxes, instead of moving the wings back they just angled them.Do you know why the 262 had swept back wings?
