Do you know why the 262 had swept back wings?
The original design had conventional straight wings, they ended up being swept back in part due to changes in the engines. To keep the proper balance, the engines had to shift back, but to save major redesign to the wing roots and torque boxes, instead of moving the wings back they just angled them.
 
Looks like on "approach" she was 150 ft to the left of the deck.....
Another Karen Hultgreen incident?
(Lt. Karen Hultgreen, USN Pilot on F-18 Hornets crashed her aircraft into the Carrier...off San Diego Coast, she perished in the flight....sources tell us she was put under Political Pressure to Fly Navy Combat before being fully qualified...)
