An interesting bit of information thought I, as I read through the handbook.Since we're on the topic, here's the ME-262 pilot's handbook to peruse... It appears to be the post-war American version used for evaluating captured jets.

Does this infer that some pilot had broken the sound barrier in the jet? It reads as though this was a repeated test. This was written in Jan. 1946.
If they could report that normal flying control was restored when the sound barrier was exceeded, I would suspect that someone survived to make that claim.Probably, but not officialy, and/or they did not survive to tell about it.
