It's been awhile since Australia stepped into the field of military aircraft design and manufacture, but along with Boeing Australia, they're coming up with an unmanned (piloted from the ground) combination fighter/surveillance jet. It is undergoing flight testing right now and expected to enter production in another two years.

Called the 'Loyal Wingman', it can both fly alongside a manned fighter to aid in fighting, or fly on it's own with AI or ground control. A quickly swapped nose section enables it to be fitted for combat, surveillance or reconnaissance. The official name is the Boeing MQ-28 Ghost Bat.
