In my opinion, both the Viet Nam war and the Moon race bankrupted America but yes, promoted jobs!

Ski-the vertical takeoff portion, there wasn't any question. The driver boots are electro thermostat heated. Our fab govt didn't realize early on that the plane might try vertical lift in places other than Calif( ????)

Sis and b-in-law flew back from Hawaii to Atlanta. They noticed a troubledlooking female Sgt?(stripes on sleeves,they said) sitting in teminal for their flight. B-in-law asked at counter if he couldn't upgrade her ticket to 1st class. They said ticket not upgradable, but they checked anyway and he paid $300 for her. Then they found out she was military escort for a casket going to Georgia. She hugged them; and then I had to get something out of my eye after the story.

Not to split too fine a hair, but i believe electricaly heated boots are referred to as Anti-Ice, disallowing the formation of any ice. Pneumatic boots which cycle inflation/deflation repeatedly are termed De-Icers. The inflation breaks up the ice.

"Blade"- I already said I wasn't the pro.lol. My son is,,on his way to just west of HongKong to show factory how to install/replace "de-icers" lol on a commuter plane they are manufacturing. He asked how come aircraft? on a Mopar site? I told him- general discussion thread. WTH everyone likes aircraft!!!!

He's never taken more than 2 days(with help on some).. He was based at Akr-Canton for awhile and got to do astronaut Lovell's plane among others. Shook golfer Mickelson's hand also.
