Yankee Express RestoMod Project

Finished up the other head today, ported, polished, unshrouded valves, took casting crap off water passages, worked the uneven valve cover rail, resurfaced the heads mating surfaces and lapped the valves.

Looking good Ghost

Honed the cylinders and removed the cam bearings today. Decoded it's not clean enough inside the motor so i'm going to Drop it off at Vermont Engine for a hot tank and wash, and have the cam bearings installed. That's $206 bucks. While they have it i'll see about their recommendations. I may end up going to .040 over size.

Nice work looks good

Finished up putting the carb back together today. Followed some step by step instructions from Holley so I know it's right. Need a new choke cap. Mocked it up on the intake to get some motivation going...lol.

Looks like you got room to get some HUGE tires in there.

Looks like you got room to get some HUGE tires in there.
I figure 15" section width with 13" tread width and 26" tall. I might have to roll the wheel well lip though...Plus I would need different wheels.

These tires are 11" + wide and there's till another 4 1/2 " left..

Those shocks are salvaged from the 86 Dodge Power Ram 4x4. Front gas shocks that were covered in surface rust and crud. They operate great though. Push down on the rear end and the car comes up and stops. Need to paint them still.

Looking good Ghost

like the looks of exhaust are gonna' be
coming out the bumper where the back up lights used to be too

what kind of fuel tank are you gonna' use ?
will it be in the trunk ?
make clearance for tailpipes
or are you gonna' route them around the OE style tank ?
{or did I miss it earlier ?}

You missed it. It's a rectangular 16 gallon steel tank that goes on the axle hump under the rear window in the trunk. The filler neck will go up at the rear of the left wheel well and the filler opening will be on the top of the quarter panel next to the front left of the trunk lid.

Began putting together the front end today. Realized I need a few parts still. lol. Bolts, nuts, grease boots, a ball joint, lock washers...
