Youngsters know nothing about push starts?

I've driven 3 on the trees too and agree Hemi Rebel most folks didn't even know what to think of them back in the early 80's. Even back then I taught a lot of my friends to drive manual trans in my RR which was easy since it was very hard to stall.

Yea, you could push start some of the old automatic cars with another vehicle but you had to get up around 30-35 mph for the trans to build up enough fluid pressure to turn over the engine. As you can imagine, this could be very dangerous. It's funny that they actually put instructions in the owners manual about push starting this way.

This is true Smitty, did it many times with my '64 383 and it was in the owners manual. Just have it in low, down hill about 20-25 mph. and it was like letting out a clutch! Got me home more than once...
