back in the day, a lot of automatics had shift kits and chirped second at any speed....... I always kinda dug it, I never hear anyone chirp second any more; did it become uncool?

I really wonder if the kids these days are modifying the transmissions to go along with the twin turbo 4 baggers.

My Scamp did on a test drive a few weeks ago, 3.23 gears.
I rebuilt the 727 and installed a TransGo TF-2 shift kit. :steering:

Nope they don't, but still for the cool kids & us older farts

The Bird does it . .. it shifts so hard.
My RR does too, not anything special really, even in drive
I haven't really done anything to the trans, B&M Alum deep pan w/drainplug & filter
stock column shift with the RR (11") converter & org sure-grip & 3.23:1 right now too
P295/50/15 radial T/As
maybe the former owner did something, it hits pretty hard when I'm in the throttle
I did adjust the throttle valve kickdown linkage when I 1st got the car Dec. 2005
Torqueflite 727 trans only has like 69k miles

I'll have to go through my pics. It's always chirped, but I took a pic of the valve body # last time I had the pan off.

I put in a B&M Transkit, years ago, specifically for the hard shifts. At moderate to heavy throttle, my 727 chirps both 1-2 and 2-3 upshifts. Even at light throttle, the 1-2 upshift is fast and makes a tiny clunk. Sadly, even at light throttle, in the pouring down rain, if I'm on a curve when it shifts, the back-end breaks loose a little bit. A bit scary the first time it happened. It has a 3.23 sure grip.

the additional 2-3 chirp is serious style points

Always got more than a chirp when going into 2nd.....and 3rd. 4 speeds are cool!

all my 4 speeds would chirp any gear on demand ...... lol

only had one automatic that was worth a damn

I put a B&M in my Challenger. A churp whenever I wanted. Fun.

One of my favorite things to do when I drive my Satellite. I know it's running right if it chirps going into 2nd gear. I used to feel the pinion snubber kick the floor when the motor was fresh and I didn't have passengers or other extra weight in the car.
