My GF asked me what I wanted for Christmas. Told her to wear a red ribbon and nothing else. She seemed annoyed that's all I wanted. She really wanted to go shopping. Lol.
1968 AMX 390 w/ 4 speed or my 2003 Mustang Cobra KB2.6H blower 615RWHP and 587RWTQ thats at 70deg intake temp. Took it out a couple times when it was around 40deg. Pushing well over 700rwhp. It was still burning through the clutch till I got into 5 gear. LOL.
I guess I should have specified any "good" race block should be fine. X block would be great. I found that R1A engine after looking for awhile at circle track type sales. Maybe you have a local racer connection? Maybe a local club you can check out? The X block came out a long time ago late 70's...
I would think any "good" block is good. When I was looking around I eventually stumbled upon a R1A 48*, W2 heads and all recently rebuilt oval track setup. Don't know what you have down there but that's what I would look for. Built short block or complete engine.
Put a couple hundred miles on it. Glad I put that aluminum rad in it. Bout 15 miles of stop and go in 90* heat. Temp moved up but she didn't overheat. Carbs a little lean; time to go back in and fix that.
