Everything complete is a bargain, what’s the build date?
It is a C 440 HP. Not sure of the date, he thinks it is March of 67.

Original factory oval dual snorkel air cleaner, if included, is a definite plus. Hard to find those one year only items for less than $300.

If you do go this way, hit me up. I have my original #4312 Carter ('67 440HP Charger w/ A/T) and the dual snorkel air cleaner off my L-code, and I'll never put them back on. I went EFI long ago.

I don't have my info here. Is the 4312 a California carb? From time to time I'll see a 4326 or 4327 for a good price and pick it up.

4312 is a 440 1967 auto LP with C.A.P for C bodies.
4326 is a 440 1967 manual HP less C.A.P. For RWXPD
4327 is a 440 1967 auto HP less C.A.P. For RWXPPDC
4326 is a 440 1967 manual HP less C.A.P. For RWXPD
4327 is a 440 1967 auto HP less C.A.P. For RWXPPDC

Yah. Looks like the 4311-12 are the two LP C.A.P Carters man./auto, and the 4328-29 are the HP versions with C.A.P.
And to confirm what I think we've concluded, there is no mention of chrome valve covers as an option on the window sticker.
Now that I pulled it out, some interesting things on there. The 440 engine was a $313 option over the standard 318. Sure-grip, $37, Rally suspension $11. Right side mirror $6.
My friend has two of them,one auto,one 4 speed.

According to Galen Govier, 132 4 speeds.
Interesting. Not much for what we view for today, but a lot then. Console clocks were about 20$. Seen only a few Chargers with the passenger mirror and only 6$ and even less with a clock.

I keep hearing that, but I am the 3rd owner and pulled the 4312 off the car myself. Hard to believe someone would go through the effort of pulling the HP CAP auto version off and installing the exact right year, LP, CAP, auto version in its place. It has the HP stamp on the C440 block and big valve 915 heads and has every other correct feature like the dual snorkel air cleaner, pcv and breather on the chrome valve covers etc.

I know of a few shops that back in the day would routinely swap carbs rather than rebuild.. It was common practice...
I also know of shops that collected the HP carbs for various reasons... Mostly guys that raced NHRA Stock classes..
