1967 Coronet Deluxe

Dam how did I miss your thread. I almost bought a 67. Love them. You doing a nice job. Gauges look real nice in there. Nice

Thanks usa...we aren't done yet but making good progress.

On the note of progress, I got to work on getting the trim on tonight. I elected to start this because...well I just wanted to know what it'd look like. Turns out making your own clips takes some time.

Looking good!

Lookin' good KB - hats off to you for not giving up and doing whatever it took to get the trim on.

That looks as cool as it should be Kevin the extra mile always produces great, as you've shown here for sure! Very nice looking and SOLID ride...

I got some more done this evening. I got the other side trim on and then managed to get the window trim and c pillar trim replaced. I even got the wipers on. However I did not get a picture of the finished product since it was dark. Don't worry that won't be far behind.

Tomorrow after work I am going to start fixing the few rust spots on the inner fender splash guards and then get them installed

A couple pics of the side trim and one of the gauges illuminated for good measure.

Wow, I love your dash! That's sweet bud!! You can get a quart bottle of spray rust converter from Eastwood at a decent price and will fix that permanently, all that rust turns to black and so far looks like like some great stuff! Its just converter so you would have to primer and paint them, It is-int like the other stuff, you do have to go over it but it does work well.. Just a suggestion if interested! You sure do have this old ride looking great for sure! :)

Thanks Ron. I use some stuff called Rust Prep which does a very similar thing to the product you mentioned. But in this case I have a little bit of welding and cutting to do...

Here it is, washed, waxed, with all the trim. the only thing left exterior wise is to paint the wheels and get new rubber wrapped on em. 3 years in the making...it feels good.

KB, I remember when you first started on it. You've done a lot of work in that time on your car. It sure looks good.

Hey KB67 . . . I remember reading through your build thread the first time and it amazed me . . . You and your project was one of the reasons that I finally decided to go the full blown, do it right, repair the car route that I'm in the middle of right now . . . and seeing what you've got now only makes me MORE anxious to get my car done and on the road. You've come a long way and I'm so glad that you didn't have to sell the car a little while back ( that would have broke my heart ). The car is looking so good ! ! !

Thanks for being a friend and a motivating factor into getting my car fixed the right way ! ! !

And keep up the great work on your car - thanks for all the updates ! !

I am glad I can be a motivator and a friend. I think we motivate each other and its awesome to have that going on. I love the group of guys on this site. I can't wait for the day when we can hit a show together...Its coming but both of us still have some work to do. The bad part is when I park next to you, my car will be forgotten!! haha

Thank you sir. Its been a pretty big effort. I thank my wife more than anything for letting me get in the garage and doing it!

This weekend was a pretty big success. I finished the wiring...so now it has all working lights, a heater, horn, windshield washer pump etc. Then I got the heater box re-installed and hooked up to the heater hoses. I managed to get the inner wheel well splash guards in (minus some rubber I will have to make for the rear sides) After all of that I turned attention to getting the interior back together. So I put some seam sealer down on the seams then installed the rear seats after some seat belts. Also installed the interior panels, armrests, some door handles that were in nicer shape and even the sill plates. So all it needs now for our first road trip is new rubber on the freshly painted wheels, an alignment and my arse in the seat.

Dang man....You've come a long way! It's great to see your Dodge looking like this. Sure got something to be proud of there. Best part is you did most of it yourself, and that's where a big heap of respect comes in.

The gauges look really killer! Great idea using that blue light!

Congrats KB, bet it really feels good after all the work to finally be able to wash and wax it huh???? How are you liking that new drivetrain??

Thanks Prop. From a guy as talented as yourself that means a great deal. It feels good and sadly I haven't gone farther than a 10 mile trip yet...I'll explain that in a few sentences down.

Yeah it felt good making it shine like a new penny...not gonna lie there. So far the drive train is awesome. I have only done like a 10 mile shakedown on it but so far it feels phenominal. Two note worthy points though.

1. 2.94 gears + od = like 1500 rpm at 60 mph. Thats not too bad but I think in the future a set of 3.23's will be in order to really bring this into the sweet spot
2. 1st gear if wound up and then shifted quick will grind a touch...I think the weight of this clutch and the transmission likely having 100k on it...well synchros for 1st to 2nd are probably a little more tired than I'd like. BUT this could be partly my fault. I put in the Ram 2500 series clutch to mate to my flywheel and its extra mass may very well be what is overwhelming the synchros. But if i double clutch and take my time I can make the shift without incident.

I really need to get my tires on...I had to peel of these rollers so I could paint the wheels so right now its on jack stands in the garage! I pick up the tire Friday night but won't probably get them mounted until Tuesday. After that the real driving begins!

So I'll have to give an update after a few shake down's to work and random cruising. The power of this thing reminds me of my motorcyles I have had...super light throttle and it just moves up to speed quickly...excellent so far.

And I thought that was the sun setting in the west, when in reality it was the smile on your face as the mounting of the tires quickly approaches ! ! Great news ! ! !

I'm still wondering what gear set to put in the Belvedere . . . so I'll be anxious to hear what you go with and how you like it !

I love the whole car but i especially wouldn't mind looking at the dash going down the highway! That looks great!!
