1967 coronet restomod/pro touring build

will do, they have great reviews so I’m expecting great things. Unfortunately a picture showing the shock measured eye to eye at exactly 14” didn’t help. He insisted I had 16.5” shocks. Now that I know there’s an issue and I look at the shock spring next to each other it’s obvious there’s an issue. I had To fight them in the spring compressor to get them on.

set a tape measure open next to them in that picture and send that.

Looking at that picture it looks very difficult to get those springs on that shock. I can't believe he'd argue with a picture!!! I'm assuming those shocks naturally extend to full length on their own? If that's the case I'm not seeing his argument :realcrazy:.

Ya I about had a heart attack pumping that spring compressor down to get the things on.

No luck, couldn’t even get a part number for the correct shock for those springs. Whatever I’ll figure it out myself. Had to cancel shop time tonight we’re working tomorrow. Maybe next weekend

Ya there would be a pucker factor of 10 trying to get those squeezed down....
Thank you for letting us know what kind of service they provided, definitely won't be getting my coins!!!

I didn’t think of it at the time I was compressing them because the instructions stated, a spring compressor may be required, so I figured my luck I gotta use the compressor and I did. Rookie mistake, live and learn

Stopped by the garage this evening with my youngest, he went right for the drivers seat saying “drive it” I gotta get this thing rolling they’re so excited about it. Might be able to get over this weekend and get some wrenches turned. Fingers crossed.

That's awesome! Fun times ahead with that little guy.

Yes it really is, it’s memories he will never forget and He will know I’m always with him when he has that car. Can’t wait for him to go for a ride in it.
Yeah it is an awesome thrill for them. My son loves to go for a ride in "his" Hot Wheels. He tells everyone it's his and he just lets me drive it. Your son will have a blast, I know it! Great to keep the traditions going and glad to see others on here my age doing so!

He has that "I'm a Bad Azz" look for his facial expression.......

Love it....

Well I called Viking to see which shock I need to match the 12” springs I have and they referred me to part number C209, it is 11.47 compressed and 16.76 extended so that is on par what bill from RMS said and what he thinks he sent me. going to cost me around $400 for the new set, anyone know how to set up a go fund me? Hahah hopefully I can sell some parts or something soon to get these things and get my suspension squared away.

Got a couple hours free time to go **** with the car, garage was packed with **** my brother in law was working in so I tinkered with the motor. Installed the B&M flex plate, torqued the ARP balancer bolt, picked up 7qts of vr1 on sale at auto zone. Pulled the valve cover to check lash and have a look at the jewelry.

Ya I sat and stared for a while lol, ya know I didn’t get to see any of the goodies before they were installed (pistons cam crank...) since my builder picked up all the parts himself from Chicago connection so it was cool to see a little. Hopefully make it back over there this week.

I think the dip stick was the hardest install I’ve done on this car so far lol.
