1968 Plymouth GTX

Tires are 265 R50.

Installed the upper control arm bushing today. I had bought the Moog bushings a very long time ago and when I opened the box I noticed that they included some spacer/washers in the package.

The holes are too small for the stock bolts and the originals had no such spacers, so I am assuming they must be for a different application.

Your assuming wrong.... First I use a countersink bit to slightly chamfer the lead-in on the bushings, next I chamfer the post on the washers, I have a lathe so I use that, before I had a lathe I use to do it with an angle grinder.... Last I use a properly sized bolt * nut to draw the washers into the bushings....

So why would they make them the wrong size?

They are supposed to be a light press fit.... But if you press them together without chamfering them first they unusually bend at the edges... Thirty years ago they worked as intended but QC isn't what it use to be.. If you don't use them the bushing center tube will press into the adjuster slot & the bushing will fail....

Almost seems like you expect stuff to work OOTB... You must know better than that by now...

BTW, usually the adjuster bolt won't pass through the center hole after getting it all assembled... So you have to run a 1/2" drill bit through the holes..

Got them installed today. Wasn't has bad as I thought it would be.
Thanks again for the help.
Ordered new upper and lower ball joints and lower control arm bushings this week. The money just keep flowing out of my bank account.

Getting ready to tackle the lower control arm bushings.
What is the consensus on the AR Engineering weld on reinforcement plates?

I bought a remote control mirror for the driver's door a couple of months back. Today I realized the car didn't have a remote control mirror installed because there is no hole for the control.

My initial thought was to drill a hole and install it but I am not sure of the exact location.

This might give you a rough idea of where it goes.

Not a great photo but all I've got.... You can reference the hole in relation to the stamped ridges that are hidden by the door panel...

Hard to see the precise location in the pictures. It looks as though if I draw a vertical line from the window crank stud, that it would be about 1" to the left of it and centered in the upper portion.

Me personally would NOT drill a hole in the door.
I would put the correct non remote mirror back on it

Maybe they help, maybe they don't..... But they sure can't hurt anything,,
I got mine from PST and welded them on both the Coronet and the Dart. Don't know how much impact they have, but I agree they can't hurt.

The hole pattern in the exterior sheet metal is different as well.
Yep.

My car has a left remote. And I wanted to put it back to stock with the correct manual mirror
But the larger base remote left an impression in the paint the manual mirror will not cover

This is what it the mounting hole looks like, hence my thinking it was a remote control mirror.
