1969 Charger R/T resurrection

For a second I thought that was your car haha "I really like the black on black" definitely better than the white stripe in my opinion. Glad to hear you finally had some luck with a company "pretty nice of them". Keep up the great work Hunt

It does kinda stand out doesn't it? There sure is a lot of black on this car, the wood almost looks out of place lol.

Yeah H2E . . . I think that it does look out of place and I'm really sure that it'll look really nice in my convertible ! ! ( GRIN ) . . .

You're really moving right along - GREAT news on the exchange of the white decal . . . that's the companies I'd like to remember and promote.

Keep up the progress, I think I may hear the rumblings of an engine in the not too distant future ! ! ! And the dash looks GREAT TOO ! ! ! WOW ! ! !

LOL . . . Me too 747Mopar . . . until I noticed that there was NO SNOW ! ! ! ( sigh ) . . . I like the black on black too . . . good choice H2E ! ! !

This is one sweet ride you are building, I love the black and the flat black stripe. Good job.

The bud of mine that has the 27 mopar musclers, has a 5 x black 70 hemi cuda. It has a special order option black front bumper. The car is a copo cuda, all #s, 1 of 1. It's his most prized possession. Just think of what that is worth!
I'll try to get a pic since I'm getting my 1st tour of one wing of his museum soon.. :icon_eek:

Performance Car Graphics goes in the book for good customer service for sure! Everything is coming together awesome H2E. And I like the woodgrain contrast of the steering wheel... looks classy :)

That one is almost a dead ringer for what I will have when done - just missing a set of Keystone Klassics.
I'll have to compile a list of the great companies that I have dealt with on this car when it is all done. A few that come to mind are Mega Parts, Summit, Year One, 521 Restorations, Passion4Mopars, Chicago Connection, TTi, in addition to Performance Car Graphics. All these companies seems to genuinely care about their customers and are aware that happy customers are repeat customers.

I'm glad you liked the service from Performance Car Graphics. I have used them on many past projects and I have always been happy with their products and service. That's why I mentioned them way back on posts #490 and #507 on this thread.

They also restore gauges and some dash parts too. Here is a picture of the gauge set they restored for my last Challenger project. The gauge set really needed some help, plus they converted the tachometer so it would work with a MSD ignition. I wish I still had some before pictures. You would be amazed at the difference.

I just can't talk highly enough about them. They care about the customer AND his car, (plus they are real "Mopar" people too). PCG and all of the vendors you mentioned above are definitely first class, (as is your Charger)

Black stripes on a black car will definitely rock !!!! Your car is a masterpiece.

Yep your engine bay pics are giving me deja vu man lol looking outstanding as always! :icon_thumleft:

And great minds think alike, I've been planning on a matte black stripe from the beginning too. Our cars will still look a little different with wheels/tires, having/not having vinyl top, but who doesn't like a hot set of twins?

Keep up the pace, can't wait to see your car laying some black stripes down the road!

H2E i know i keep repeating myself, but when you put that satin stripe on your car, you will take BILLY BADASS to the next level.....WOW!!!!!!

Aint that the way it always goes?

Kind of seems that way. I think in the back of her mind she knew I would end up going this route. I didn't think I ever would have though lol.

Lol! :beavisnbutthead:

Did you ever order your wheels and tires yet? Aside from the mandatory smoke clouds, I'm looking forward to seeing it all back together and rolling, the keystones are gonna look sharp!

I ordered the wheels with custom backspacing last November after just missing the cutoff before the plant closed for yearly maintenance. I was told they would be made Jan. or Feb., so it should be soon.

I had a great day with the Charger today. My glass guy came over and we got the windshield and rear window installed. The windshield and exterior front trim is all AMD stuff and really fit nice. This is the first time I have seen the car with glass in the front as it was mia when I bought it. We were having some trouble getting the original rear trim to stay snapped together in one spot, so I decided to save that for my paint guy since he has done piles of them and know all the secrets so my nice shiny paint doesn't get damaged. I must have tweaked it a little when fighting to get it separated from all the original butyl caulk when disassembling.

I also managed to get the carpet laid in and trimmed up a little bit. Had to quit for the day because my arms, wrists, and fingers are killing me. It's a bugger getting old.

Thanks - yeah things have been moving right along thanks to a little slow time with work. That will be changing after this week though so I have been trying to get as much done while I can.

Glad to hear you've been able to find some "car" time H2E . . . you're sure making the most of it too ! !

Your progress is unbelievable . . . keep it up !

Are you beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel yet ? ? ?

No pistol grip for me on this one Bryon, I like the original style simulated wood knob on 69's.
