1969 Charger R/T resurrection

Congrats on the windshield and fingers crossed that one is behind you for good!

Looking forward to hearing how first fire-up goes if it runs half as good as it looks it will be like a brand new car!!

GOON . . . For H2E's sake, I sure wish you didn't use the term "fire-up" . . . ( sigh ) . . . SURE hope that all goes smoothly H2E ! ! !

A few more pics since everything is finally installed on the car. And the best news is that I started her up Sunday night :hello2:. Things went pretty smooth, with just a couple of small issues. Didn't have one of the radiator hose clamps on straight, so I lost about 10 drops of antifreeze. I then noticed that my water pump pulley had a wobble to it. I took it apart thinking a glob of paint was throwing it off, but it couldn't be that simple. Got ahold of a buddy who had an extra one, blasted, painted, and put it back together the next day - good to go now. And the last hiccup happened when getting out of the seat for the 3rd time, one of the black buttons on the seat popped off. Called the upholstery shop because I couldn't get it to stay on and was told they are pressed together with a special tool. Well of course this meant taking the seat bottom back to them so they could repair a flaw on a Legendary cover. That should be done on Wednesday so I can get it back together for a 7:30 a.m. appointment Friday for an alignment. This is the first time since 1982 that the car has moved under its own power - kind of cool I think. I took a video so you boys could hear the solid lifters and the exhaust sound. I got that figured out, but my computer says it cant load it. So I don't know exactly what the deal is with that, and it doesn't help that I am very computer illiterate.

Yeah, 2 years of my life shot in the *** over this one. I wonder if I will get goofy and try another? If I do, it will be a southern car for sure, and definitely not another Charger lol. I've had enough of the Charger curse.

Bravo bro!
If you can take a vid with your phone you may can send it straight to youtube then post the link, bypassing your computer.

Oh, what a Charger it is, indeed!! Nice job. It couldn't look better.

Thanks mechanic - maybe you would be interested in some sort of trade? As I am rather fond of your ride. On second thought, the wife would probably kill me if she even knew I was thinking such thoughts. I suppose I should see if she gets her fill of it this summer lol.

DAAAAYUM!!!!! Never fails to look even meaner in every picture! You've got a serious masterpiece on you hands Joel (cursed or not lol), thanks for the inspiration and a well-deserved Congratulations!!!!

Oh yeah, and bring on the tire smoke
:eek:ccasion14:

I would be up for it. However, my car has a lot of those little things that need to be finished or fixed. Besides, if she kills you she would inherit everything.

Finally the lite at the end off the tunnel a job well done im sure its gives every one here a great inspiration . Maybe so me day ill have to take a road trip to congratulate you in person. I really like that black paint but still going to paint mine f6 green

Hubba Hubba!...........So, how's the wife liking the black, now the car's pretty much all said & done Joel?

She's been out in Colorado for the past week, so she hasn't even seen it with the seats installed or heard it running yet. She's getting back tonight and is really looking forward to get behind the wheel and give it some testing.

Didn't think about that, guess I better be watching my back :violent-smiley-100:.

I guy in a neighboring town painted his 69 Charger Green with Envy with a black vinyl top and a black rump stripe. Very sharp looking car and a color you surely don't see everyday.

Pulled the car out this morning and with the help of #1 son recorded a video on his phone. Excuse the crappy quality of the videos as this apparently is not my forte either.
