1969 Road Runner facelift

No, no, no.... gotta keep him off the mischief juice for as long as I can! LMAO!!

Semper Fi 67satellite, there are many days I'd trade my weather for yours.

Me and da ole lady done been hitched 20 years today.

This morning she gave me a pack of new boxer shorts and 3 rolls of my favorite shop towels which she knows I use a lot once my car projects get close to paint.

I think she's trying to tell me something....

Not sure what the underwear gift means but I'm pretty sure the shop towels mean she's tired of looking at the roadrunner sitting in bare metal.

Turned out she gave me more than underwear and shop towels..

Nice pistol. It's always nice to have new firearms. Springfield make a good one, though I've always prefered Sig's over any 1911. Watch your left thumb, I've seen slides take skin off before, not a happy day.

By the way, this is certainly one of my favorite threads. Not only because the work you do on the car, but everything else you post too. Keep at it, and hopefully your wife's right, we'd all love to see some color on the car. Keep at it!

Real nice piece Dave! Wow. Great Gun! And congrat's on the 20 years! one of the few now a days that can make it that long. Best wishes on you guys having many more happy years to come.

Now.....as far as the hampered pace on the tin chicken. I'm guessing the garage is starting to sound like....

Dave, Shooting is a great distraction from almost eveything else. Love the 45 ACP. Awsome stopper if you need it for that. Mine is a Frankenstien , with Springfield reciever, Colt slide, Bo Mar Sights , Knurled Grips , Etc. And a thow down to boot. happy aniversary, and many more. Also own a few Sigs. Take the Wife out after all that!!!

Any news on the bird Dave or you still trying to salvage what ever winter weather sports that are left of the season?

happy late anniversary dave. nice gun, that should keep them varmints away for sure.

I pulled all the copper wire out of the walls in the house and sold all my crushed beer cans so I could make a couple of parts orders. I've got tin patches coming from ABS which will include:

LH and RH lower fender section patches.

LH rocker repair panel

LH front floor pan

Frame connectors

That should keep me rolling on the tin chicken.

I am still struggling with what I might do to repair my drivers door. I am waiting for a call from a guy with a parts car to see if he has a RH fender and LH door he can sell me. My RH fender I will use if I have too but it's been hammered really bad as a repair measure so if I can find a virgin fender I'd be better off, even if it does need rust repair in the usual area.

My drivers door has a dent in it but the bigger problem is that during a repair/repaint in the 70's the door skin was sanded/ground super thin right where the door handle attaches.

Here's the fender that I don't like:

and here's the door problem that I dont like:

I've also found door, roof rail, door jam, trunk lid weatherstripping as well as 8 piece window felt kit.

This is all part of a kit somebody has on ebay for a decent price so I think I'll spring for that as well.

Then from classic industries will come vinyl top (white), windshield gasket, windshield molding clip sets, a few bird decals, a black carpet, and probably a stupid windshied (I guess you kind of need those)

I guess I need an original style heat riser/choke actuator for the carb... maybe a fastener and gasket set for the exhaust manifolds... and that should be about enough to put me back on the road.

Will, you are a phucking mopar ninja!!

Thanks buddy, I'll cross one more worry off my list for this project. I won't be ordering a door skin or shopping for a used door, or patching a custom made patch in that area. I'll back it with that plate and some minor welding. Thanks a bunch!

Hope this works out for you, i see what you mean by the fender, not to good but i love that wheel under it.. Good luck with the ole gal!

Brown truck brought me a new drivers front floor pan, a rocker repair panel and a pair of fender patches yesterday.

All my old carpet is out of the car now and I've been scraping someone's undercoating job off of the topside of my floor. Overall the floor is in very good shape.

I'm developing an itch on my spray gun trigger finger.

Even primer is a little ways out yet but still, It's in sight.

I can't wait for a change of pace from cut, weld, grind to filler, sand, prime etc.

looks like we'll be seeing some pictures soon i hope.
