1969 Road Runner facelift

Those C-Aire compressors are the ****. My brother got one about 5 years ago, uncle got one just like it a few years ago. No problems. Slow running and make lots of air. Not crazy priced and made right here in Minnesota, what more could you ask for?

Car is looking great! Sent in my registration for Mopars in the Park June 1st. You and the 'runner will be there right?

Registration?

This is like one of those epic epiphany moments like when Navin Johnson (The Jerk) was told that he was adopted. "You mean I'm going to stay this color?"

Where do I find this registration?

Ha ha ha Yeah I sure as hell the snow is gone by then! It is down here in "tropical" southern MN.
After parking out in BFE last year I said heck with it and registered for the non judged portion of the show. My car is not show worthy by any means but its easier to get to your car when you need a beer!

Hey, so how do i register so that i can set up not too far from you? non judged sounds good to me.

Go to the link that wannadrag posted.
Scroll down the page to the MOPARS IN THE PARK 2013 banner. Under there you'll see some links. Click on "regestration form"

http://www.midwestmopars.com/mip/2013registration.pdf

Print that out and mail it off with a check.
Not sure if we'd park next to each other, they have different classes they group you in. You'd be in 400 which is '68-70 B bodies. My car would be 300.

Thanks a bunch Gpuller!

Tonight, the bird from 1976 went away.

Not sad.

Can't say I didn't shed a tear for the bird on the hood. But I know you kept one of the rear quarters and that scene was cool as he!!.

Yes I did, the murals on the sides of the car were a different quality than this hood bird. I honestly think the hood bird was thrown on there real quick and sloppy to draw the eye away from the wavy hood..

:edgy:

You can see two faces where the bird was from the sanding, hmmmm I think one is Jesus............CALL THE VATICAN!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, I posted this on a hunting forum that I frequent and I got the same reaction over there lol!

Most over there said it looked like a doors album cover.

Can't say I did it on purpose and can't say I saw anything while I was sanding either lol!

It's bare metal now!

I worked the chit out of that C-Aire compressor last night. The 8" viking mud hog sander eats air like crazy and I didn't give it a break. So glad to have that crappy old paint off that hood, it's the last of that old white paint job and I'm telling you, that crap was some terrible paper loading junk. And the gray primer it had under the white... same, terrible paper loading junk.

I worked the heck out of that new compressor and it was really up to the task, big difference from the old one it replaced and way less noise.

I ordered some more epoxy primer last night for that hood because I'm fresh out. While I'm waiting for it to get here I can get on them front fenders, they need some skim coat. Then i can re-shoot the poly prime full length of car and I should be able to block the body out from the front edge of the doors and back without breaking through to bare metal. The fenders and hood will need a follow up I imagine, maybe not tho.

Then the roof can be painted with a single stage white urethane which I already have, which will be masked off during the sealer/base/clear shoot on the rest of the car.

it's getting there guys, picking up steam!

Mopars in the park!

I'd really like to drive this car down to Farmington come June 1st!!!

Mentioned it to the wife last night. Half expecting a flying rolling pin (I was wearing a helmet).

She said that would be awesome and she'd love to go to the show in Farmington.

So, I'll show her that link you gave me and she can fill out the registration and send it off.

There you go! Get her itching to go on a road trip and the 'Runner will HAVE to get done. Gotta keep mama happy!

looking great with the fresh fenders dave. I agree, bird has to go. Airbrushed roadrunner looks like a half stoned cypress tree anyways..lol. I'm sure you'll do good on the paint. Flow from one panel to the next and she'll turn out great.

i lmfao

Dave looks like great progress, I love the new compressor toy too

It was a body filler night on that passenger fender.

Actually going really well.
