1970 GTX Four Door!?!

Very cool! What kind of bead roller you use?

Doing your own panels probably save a bunch!

I always like seeing Mopar 4 door hot rods! Keep us posted....:headbang:

I do to. That's why I subscribed to this thread. I have a '69 Wagon that I intend to do if I live that long. Have to get the 68 done first.

I know I'll catch hell for this as I typically bash the purists but why call it a 4 door GTX or RR when it's a Belvy? Call it what it is. What's the shame in that? Belvys are cool in their own right.

I do like the hotchkis autox taxi, that thing is badass! This one is going to stay like a muscle car wannabe though, I've had the look I want in my head for twenty years, time to make it happen!

Believe me, I have no shame, I love what it is, but the big honkin gtx emblems with the stripes coming out of the scoops is a look I love! (Plus I don't have the belvedere emblems, lol)

Thanks! I borrowed a mitler bros, it worked pretty well, and I'm definitely a novice! It does save a bunch if you don't care about originality.

Thanks for the kind words and interest in this car, helps keep me motivated! I got bored after dinner and fit the scoop inserts and gtx emblems, I love the little victories! Too bad I have to wait for warmer weather to start body work!

ENJOY it bud, you are the one that drives it, repairs it and has to be the keeper, what the heck... sometimes we do what we have,,,, our way....

Fair enough. I do like how you did the Vette handles though.

I was able to get a little more work done today, I fabricated a patch for the trunk drop along the new lower quarter on the drivers side, and finished welding the lower skin on the back side. I have to do the same on the passenger side, and then a few small patches along the rocker panel, and I think most of the heavy welding is done. I ran out of energy today, but hopefully next week I can get most of it finished. I really want to stay on pace for paint next year!

I finally started on the eventual engine for the car this week, it's a 400 block, and I have a 440 crank to go in it for the 451 stroker. It's a long term project, but as soon as I get he crank ground I can start mocking it into the block at least!

Thanks superfreak, I'm hoping to finish the other trunk drop early next week, it's supposed to warm up a little so I won't burn as much kerosene!

So all of the welding is done, both trunk drops are finished and the lower quarter patches are all finalized. When the weather breaks I can start seam seedling and adding filler and primer to the repairs. Come on spring!

I'm having fun following the work you're doing here. I myself would've just done it back to stock (but that's just me ), but people like you that think outside the box help make this hobby what it is for everybody to enjoy.

Finally started working on it again, it's been a while! This week I am going to try and hut the body work hard, and see how far I get. Got the driver rear door ready for build primer and the rear quarter roughed in.

Here are some pics of its current state, I better get going if I want to paint it this year!

It's coming together nicely! When I am done my 70 Road Runner, I think I want to try my hand at a 4 door or wagon as a daily driver/parts hauler. I am warming up to them more and more.

Nice project - keep up the good work!

Love the cars most don't see value in. Deffinately keeping track of this project. Can't wait to see more progress.

image.jpgimage.jpgThanks guys, it's good to work on this thing again, shot a little build primer today. That keeps me motivated, it looks nice in primer, but you can still see how far off paint is. Any progress is progress, I am fortunate to have other old cars to drive, so I forget how much I miss this car!

More blocking, more primer, more progress! It's shaping up pretty well so far. Borrowed a stud welder to pull some dents in the front passenger door, so I can get the whole car on the same page.
