1970 GTX Four Door!?!

So I'm still going to paint my steelies but...I'm in love with this look for a bit! I was just putting these on as placeholders for a bit, the tires are shot, but now I want to buy tires for these! Decisions, decisions, lol!

Those Magnum 500's look pretty good, but I bet you anything that the whitewalls are what have your eye. Check this out:

What size are those tires? It looks like you could probably go up one size in sidewall if you want to fill the wheel arches.

I think you're on to something! Something about white walls gives it a classic look. I'm not always in the mood for them, good thing everything I own is the same bolt pattern! The tires on it are only 205 75 14's, so there is plenty of room for improvement. I have a pair of 15x8 steelies for the rear, and I'm planning on running 15x6s on the front.

Indeed. In fact, WW's are what my '71 Mach 1 came with, though they're horribly undersized (and dryrotted). Still, the look is great when juxtaposed on a muscle car where the given expectation are white lettered tires:

Granted, the Ford center caps with the trim rings that virtually meet up with the centers also creates this mutiple-ring look which makes the white line all the more fluid in its appearance. Even the circular "Ford Motor Company" helps in this respect - everything about these wheels are circular. It's almost as if someone took Mooneyes Moon Discs and made them 3D.

It's a unique look that may not be as fluid when working with the 8" Mopar caps. There are also the "Plymouth Division" caps to make it a bit more interesting.

Don't forget the possibility of pushing tradition by slapping on a set of trim rings too. Might make it a bit too frumpy though; it is, after all, a GTX ;)

FYI, don't forget - you can always go with the later Dippy 15" police rims too...hint, hint!

Since it snowed yesterday and the weather isn't cooperating, I just watched a video I took a few months back. My sister got me a gopro and I was trying it out, nothing like looking over that air grabber. Who woulda thought it was nicer in February than April?

Painted my steelies to match today and mounted my 275 60's on the back. I'm in love, and it drives so nice with new tires!

Ahhhhhh. That looks so goooood. Those blue wims are soothing to the eyes. What width rims?

I used the original 14 x 5.5? fronts and 15x8's on the rear.

My cousin got them at a swap meet, they're truck centers welded into a new hoop. They are the same specs as truck/ramcharger wheels though.

Gotcha.

I'm still a bit mystified that I pulled a virtually perfect 15x7" steel no-slot off an '87 B1500 at the junkyard. Thought it was going to be a 15x8".

Not complaining about it, turned out as a great trunk spare, but still a bit curious which of the trucks/vans came with what.

Went to Mopar Nationals over the weekend, and had a blast! The car made the two hour trip there with no real issues, drove it around the area all weekend, and two hours home in the rain. Mopar Muscle and Bangshift.com both included pictures of my car for their galleries online, and it drew some attention all weekend, which was cool. Also got to hang out with my family all weekend, my cousin bright his challenger, and my sister brought her 46k mile survivor 71 Newport. Now to recover from the heat, lol!

I saw your car at the Nationals this past weekend. I immediately recognized it. It looks just as good in person as it does online.

Thank you very much! It's nice hearing that from others in the hobby who know how much work these cars are. Thanks!
