1970 GTX Four Door!?!

That is one cool project ............. but I keep seeing bits and pieces of other Mopars in the background.......... whats up with all that? Lets see the WHOLE COLLECTION and the stories behind those other cool rides sittin' there !!!

Thanks Stew, but be careful what you wish for! Although my belvedere is my first Mopar love, there are plenty in the stable, so I'll show my hand :) The gold one is my 68 Fury with an efi 5.2 magnum in it, a summer family daily driver. The 69 Dart is an original 340 Swinger that the 340 was long gone, so it got a 5.7 efi Hemi. I just recently got it on the road, and the build thread is over on forabodies under my same username. The 59 Sport Fury is a really rusty car I picked up years ago, but soon I may give it some love. Its a factory 361 Golden Commando pushbutton swivel seat hardtop, but it needs a lot of work to get it rolling. My 07 Daytona was a car my wife made me buy because she said I needed a reliable family car, and what is more responsible than a purple hemi car? The last one is my 95 Dakota, was a 3.9 v6, now 5.9 5 speed. Fun driver, starting to rust after 188k though, so I need to get on the body soon. Other than my wife's 06 Liberty and a rusty neon winter car, I think I have everything covered. Whew! Sorry you asked right?

Love the 70s body style. Ralphie looks like you have your hands full with a great project car. Good luck my man and keep us in the loop!

Nice stable of cars! Glad you did the responsible family thing and got that purple Hemi!

Started fitting the trim on the tail panel, and got another blocking done on the passenger side.

Ralphie, how did you set up the corvette door handles? I'm thinking that may be something to do to my RT when I eventually repair both rotted doors. I like the look of handle-less doors, but not the impracticality and having to install actuators to pop them open.

I was able to make linkage that went from the latch to the Vette handle, but I'm not real sure how reliable it will be with a lot of use. I may end up using the Vette handles for a switch for electric actuators in the future, kind of like newer dodge vipers.

Paint!!!! I've been working on the block sanding, and decided it was as good as I was going to get it. My dad and cousin came to help, and it's got 3 coats of base, four coats of clear. I'm sure I'll sand at least one coat off because we painted in my dusty shop, but I'm pretty happy with the finished product! Now to wet sand and buff the dirt and orange peel out!

A couple more pics, I love the blue in the sun! It's the same color I painted the car in 1999, 1998 Dodge truck intense blue pearl.

Another one that won't die some useless rusty death. Instead saved by Raphie. Great project car and going to make a nice looking 70 GTX. Who knows some day we might just see a blower sticking out of that hood doing handstands at the strip.

I've been waiting since I first joined FABO to see this one in paint!

Congrats, Ralphie!

Thanks guys for the kind words, I appreciate it! It's like my high school dream car is finally here! I started the first color sand on the passenger side today, I think it will turn out pretty nice.

I couldn't help myself, had to put the door handles on!

F'in A Ralphie!! she looks great!!

now alls we need is a burnout vid lol

Thanks, the burnout vid might be sooner than later, already did one, with no proof :). I finished wet sanding and buffing today, but it was a real comservative buff. There are plenty of places that the paint is still lumpy, and the roof probably needs two days of sanding on its own. I got the dirt and bad spots presentable and I'll do one panel at a time at my leisure, pretty sure I'll have this car until I'm dead! For now I'm happy, and have very sore arms!
