Wow Leah's flying 3.67 @ 331

Congrats to 'Back in Time' (FABO) for earning the Top Qualifier title of the 2017 NHRA Lucas Oil Nationals with an almost-perfect outstanding total of 31.5 bonus points. He picked the #1 qualifier in Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle and the #2 qualifier in Top Fuel. Way to go!
'ocdart' (FABO) ended up in the #2 qualifier spot spot with 28.5 bonus points.
'super-bee_ski' was the top FBBO qualifier with 26.5 points
More great picks!

We have 16 players for the Lucas Oil Nationals and 16 different driver combos made up of:
* 4 different Top Fuel drivers. No Round 1 head-to-head matchup possibilities. One possible matchup in Round #2.
* 6 different Funny Car drivers. Again, no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. There is a chance of two head-to head matchups in Round 2.
* 5 different Pro Stock drivers. Again, no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. One possible matchup in Round #2.
* 5 different Pro Stock Motorcycle riders. Again, no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. One possible matchup in Round #2.

Good luck all!

Oh, and Dave Rieff doesn't sound any smarter just because he was wearing glasses.

I got lucky again with my picks and was fortunate to end up with the 36th annual NHRA Lucas Oil Nationals "Top Picker Eliminator" title with a point total of 168.5. I picked the class winner in Top Fuel and class finalists in both Funny Car and Pro Stock. My Pro Stock Motorcycle pick lost in the semi-final round of eliminations. My Top Fuel pick was a huge help with E.T. bonus points and a new National E.T. record.
'Back in Time' (FABO) was the event runner-up with 141.5 points.
'alsant' was the top FBBO player with 141.0 points.

Here's where the bonus points were earned if you picked the right drivers:

Top Fuel
E.T. - Leah Pritchett, a new National Record 3.640 during qualifying
Speed - Brittany Force, 333.16 during qualifying

Funny Car
E.T. - Robert Hight, a new National Record 3.793 during qualifying
Speed - Robert Hight, 338.00 during qualifying

Pro Stock
E.T. - Greg Anderson, 6.588 during Round 1 of eliminations
Speed - Greg Anderson, 209.20 during Round 1 of eliminations

Here are the game point standings after the 17th event of the 2017 season:
1817.0- ocdart (FABO) +1 in the game standings
1798.0 - 64BEL (FBBO) -1
1769.5 - Back in Time (FABO) +1
1741.0 - stroked340 (FABO) -1
1734.5 - Gpuller (FBBO) +1
1730.5 - Budnicks (FBBO) -1
1702.0 - Nick2317 (FBBO) no change
1678.5 - 71dartswinger (FABO) no change
1638.0 - memike (FABO) no change
1633.0 - alsant (FBBO) +1
1627.0 - cuda20 (FABO) -1
1546.0 - SSGKarg (FABO) no change
1455.0 - Duster79 (FABO) +1
1450.5 - johnnycuda (FABO) -1
1322.0 - super-bee_ski (FBBO) no change
1233.5 - fishmens67 (FBBO) no change

A weekend off to get ready for the "Big Go", the 18th race of the 2017 season, the Chevrolet Performance NHRA U.S. Nationals, is August 30-September 4, at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, IN.
Following the lead of the NHRA, all round win points will be "points-and-a-half" with 15 points being awarded for round wins so points can add up in a hurry! Pick well.
As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts on Friday, September 1 in order to qualify for all event bonus points. Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 7:15PM EDT (4:15PM PDT).
The U.S. Nationals entry list is posted on NHRA.com and currently shows 20 Top Fuel, 17 Funny Car, 18 Pro Stock and 19 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries, but the counts are always subject to change. Keep checking http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist18.aspx for an updated entry list.
Get your picks posted and good luck!
The current television schedule shows Sunday qualifying coverage starting at Noon EDT (9:00AM PDT) and final qualifying coverage starting at 5:00PM EDT Sunday (2:00PM PDT), both on FS1. Live Finals coverage starts at 11:00AM EDT (8:00AM PDT) on FS1, and then transitioning to the Fox Network at 1:00PM EDT (10:00AM PDT).

Congrats to OC! (think this might be rigged) LOL

The family had a great time at BIR!
10 minutes into the gate we all got a healthy dose of nitro. Thought my daughter was gonna puke. Figured that would be it and say "That's it we need to go!" But they all toughed it out and went on.
My son says he wants to go back so it was a win!
Daughter got to meet her fav John Force. Matt Hagan and Antron also.

Congrats oc and alsant! Glad you all had a good time, Reed!

Way to go ski in qualifying anyway

Congrats to aslant in eliminations

Huh...I came here to make my picks for the U.S. Nationals. Guess I got a week to change my mind.

Yep a little wait still :BangHead:

Driver Change Announcement!
In case you haven't yet seen/heard the news. Troy Coughlin Jr. resigned his position as driver of the Sealmaster Top Fuel dragster for Kalitta Motorsports on Saturday evening stating he wants to get more seat time and experience in an inject A/Fuel dragster.
Good move on his part IMO since I always felt he was on the edge of both destroying his ride and severely injuring himself whenever he was in the car.
Richie Crampton was named as the new driver this morning. He'll be in the car for the U.S. Nationals qualifying starting Friday and will finish out the season.

:thankyou:
Yeah I saw that the other day on Dragzine newsletter
Troy Coughlin Jr. wants to get more experience in an
Semi-Pro's :poke:/Sportsman injected fuel-T/A dragster,
more laps & more time to hone his driving skills,
so to not overdrive them like he has been, scaring the ****
out of most everyone...

Crampton will be a good driver...

U.S. Nats
T.F. Leah Pritchett
F.C. Robert Hight
P.S. Tanner Gray
P.S.M. LE Tonglet IV

Good everyone!
