2017 7th Annual FABO NHRA "Pick 'Em" Game - Time For Your NITRO Fix! Get Ready To Make Your Picks!!!

I see a bunch of people are on the Leah bandwagon now,
I picked her the 1st few races, she's done very well
I wish I'd have picked her last race too...

But the 4 wide is a different creature...
I hope I'm not wrong "yet again" :BangHead:
Antron is gaining his stride...

Good luck everyone

Congrats to 'Back in Time' (FABO) and 'johnnyCuda' (FABO) for sharing the Top Qualifier title of the 2017 NHRA Four-Wide Nationals with very nice totals of 29.0 bonus points. 'Back in Time' picked the #2 qualifier in Funny Car and Pro Stock and the #3 qualifier in both Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle. 'johnnyCuda' picked the #2 qualifier in Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle and the #3 qualifier in Funny Car and Pro Stock. Way to go!
'cuda20' (FABO) was right behind in the #2 qualifier spot with 28.5 bonus points.
'aslant' was the top FBBO qualifier with 27.5 bonus points.
More great picks!

We have 16 players for the Four-Wide Nationals and 14 different driver combos made up of:
* 3 different Top Fuel drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. The only place there may be any head-to-head matchups would be in the final round of eliminations.
* 7 different Funny Car drivers with several Round 1 head-to-head matchups: #2 qualifier Robert Hight (1 pick), #7 Tommy Johnson Jr. (1 pick) and #10 qualifier Jack Beckman (1 pick) are all in the same group in Round 1 of eliminations; and #3 qualifier John Force (2 picks) and #6 qualifier Ron Capps (4 picks) are in the same group in Round 1 of eliminations.

Four of these five could all meet in the same group in the semi-finals.
* 4 different Pro Stock drivers picked this week. #3 qualifier Greg Anderson (5 picks) and #11 qualifier Shane Gray (1 pick) and in the same group in Round 1 of eliminations. They could both possibly join #2 qualifier (3 picks) in the same group in the semi-finals.
* Only 2 different Pro Stock Motorcycle riders picked this week: #2 qualifier Eddie Krawiec (10 picks) and #3 pick Andrew Hines could possibly meet in the same group in the semi-finals, and both could possibly move on to the final round group.

Good luck all

If you're a new game player this year, the 4-Wides are scored differently. We're using the same scoring this year as previously used and, again, this scoring is only for the 4-Wide Nationals.

Points change for 4-Wide Nationals event ONLY!!!
Same rules as the past several years:

This event only has 3 rounds of eliminations. Event scoring will be similar to the NHRA points scoring.

Qualifying position bonus points are the same as always

Each pro elimination round is run with 4 cars per race rather than 2, and 2 cars advance from each of the first 2 rounds of eliminations.

First round: Four races of four cars each. The 1st car of each race to cross the finish line will get 10 points, the 2nd car will get 5 points. Eight cars advance to the second round of eliminations.

Second round: Two races of four cars each. Same scoring as the first round. Four cars advance to the final round of eliminations.

Final round: One race of four cars. 1st Place finisher will get 10 points, 2nd Place will get 5 points, 3rd Place will get 3 points, 4th Place will get 1 point.

Same scoring for quickest e.t. and fastest speed for the event and for any national record set at this event.

Again, this scoring will be for this event only.

A well know figure from NHRA history has passed...

So:
I'm still the Dummy of the group!
The biggest points accumulation is not dependent on who wins but on the qualifying?

Example:
Top Fuel
E.T. - Clay Millican, 3.716 during qualifying
Speed - Antron Brown, 328.06 during qualifying

Funny Car
E.T. - Courtney Force, 3.851 during qualifying
Speed - Robert Hight, 333.91 during qualifying

Pro Stock
E.T. - Jeg Coughlin Jr., 6.568 while not advancing out of Round 1 of eliminations
Speed - Greg Anderson, 210.87 while finishing first during Round 1 of eliminations

Pro Stock Motorcycle
E.T. - Eddie Krawiec, 6.792 while finishing first during Round 1 of eliminations
Speed - Eddie Krawiec, 196.93 during qualifying

Ski -
Qualifying bonus points range from 0.5 to 8.0 per driver depending on what qualifying position your driver pick finishes in. If you pick the #1 qualifier for all four pro classes you'll end up with 32.0 bonus points from qualifying.
In all race events except the Four-Wide Nationals, elimination round winners earn 10 points per round win:
* Your driver pick loses in the 1st round of eliminations = 0 points for eliminations
* Your driver pick wins in the 1st round, but loses in the 2nd round = 10 points
* Your driver pick wins both the 1st and 2nd rounds, but loses in the semi-finals = 20 points
* Your driver wins his class = 40 points
Total points per event are a combination of both Qualifying bonus points, elimination round points, bonus points if your driver pick runs either/both Low E.T. and/or Top Speed of the event for his class, and additional bonus points if your driver pick sets a new National Record for either/both E.T. and/or Speed.
