Mother Nature may not be a drag racing fan this weekend and may make getting the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in this weekend a bit problematic.
The current weather forecast shows light rain currently in the Norwalk, Ohio, area with thunderstorms from 2-7PM EDT today. The Saturday forecast currently shows rain showers continuing overnight increasing to thunderstorms from 8AM-4PM EDT.
The Sunday forecast shows partly sunny skies up until 4PM EDT when rain showers are again forecast for about an hour.
Cross your fingers and let's hope they can get qualifying in during any break in the weather today and tomorrow.

Congratulations to 'Duster79' (FABO) for winning the Top Qualifier title for the 2018 Summit Racing Equipment Nationals with a very nice total of 27.5 bonus points by picking the #1 qualifier in Top Fuel, the #2 qualifier in Funny Car, the #4 qualifier in Pro Stock Motorcycle and the #6 qualifier in Pro Stock.
'Nick2317' (FBBO) grabbed the runner-up spot with 27.0 bonus points.

Way to go!!
Good luck all in eliminations tomorrow!

We have 14 players again this week with 11 different driver combos made up of:
* 5 different Top Fuel drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. There is a possibility of two head-to-head matchup in Round 2 if both drivers win their opening round of eliminations.
* 4 different Funny Car drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. There is a possibility of one head-to-head matchups in Round 2 of eliminations. Interestingly, all 3 John Force team funny cars are in the top half of the bracket and all 4 Don Schumacher team funny cars are in the bottom half of the bracket.
* 6 different Pro Stock drivers picked this week with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. There is a possibility of two head-to-head matchups in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 4 different Pro Stock Motorcycle drivers picked this week with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups. There is a possibility of one head-to-head matchups in Round 2 of eliminations.

Good luck all!

Finally, we get a weekend off so some of us can try and figure out where (and why) it's all going wrong!
The start of the second half of the 2018 season will start with the 13th race of the season, the 6th annual NHRA New England Nationals is July 6-8 at New England Dragway in Epping, New Hampshire.
As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts on Friday, July 6 in order to qualify for all event bonus points. Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 4:30PM EDT (1:30PM PDT).
The New England Nationals entry list is posted on NHRA.com and currently shows 15 Top Fuel, 17 Funny Car and 13 Pro Stock entries, but the counts are subject to change. Keep checking http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist12.aspx for an updated entry list.

Nice picks last week Nick

I went down -1
oh well, always next week

figures
Rarely a time I don't pick Kraweic & he wins,
I went with Hines instead :BangHead:

glad to see Ron Capps running well/better again too

Torrence going out early hurt
Anderson going out early hurt too

IMO it's good to see new blood winning too

a week off
maybe the weather will be better for NE

I know it will be dryer on the west coast swing anyway
hooter & trickier tracks too

Here's your "Tuesday-before-the-event" reminder for the NHRA New England Nationals that starts Friday, July 6th.
The entry list currently shows:
16 Top Fuel
17 Funny Car
16 Pro Stock

Looks like this may be another problematic Friday qualifying due to weather. The current forecast calls for a high temps of 82F on Friday with thunderstorms hitting at 10AM and rain continuing until 10PM, then a high temp of 72F on Saturday but no rain. The Sunday forecast currently shows a high of 79F and sunny up to noon, then partly cloudy after that but again no rain in the forecast for Sunday.

Get your picks posted!
