383 tear down something doesn’t look right.

If it's standard bore I'd strongly suspect it kicked a rod under warranty & the dealership just patched it & sent it down the road... Mopars had a 5/50 powertrain warranty & the dealers did what they needed to do to make a profit.... BTDT.... Not how I would want to fix things but when the warranty auditor is calling the shots you fix it how they say or find another place of employment....

That absolutely makes sense, so technically it could have been running like this for quite awhile. The casting number was 1968 or 1969. No one would have known if it came warranty from the dealer or thought to check until the first time someone pulled the oil pan. I said it makes sense because of this. Shady *** dealers!

Where does that hole go?

No holes anywhere, you mean that dark spot ? It’s a drop of some of the oil that was at the bottom of the pan, pretty dark since it has sat for awhile

Besides what has already been mentioned, in the second image to the left it appears that the block is cracked. That would concern me.

I concur....in pix #2 (zoom in to see better), it appears to be a crack beginning at the divot on the oil pan flange and traveling up to the bottom of the the bore, where the initial damage was noted. To me it doesn't look like casting flash. At the least, disassemble the bottom end, pull the bearings and crank and ultrasonic test the suspect areas b4 spending $$$ on a rebuild. Just my opinion of course.
