Hello All.Today we took my doors and hood to be stripped. We wasn't going to but the fenders look so good we decided to spend a few extra bones to make the other things look as good as the fenders.Heck buy the time you buy sand paper or get them sand blasted pay the unregulated electric bill not counting my elbow pain.I think in my own opinion It worth it.Tomorrow we will Etch pimmer the inside of the fenders and the splash panels and maybe expoxy primer.Keep restoring Dave L 295.jpg296.jpg298.jpg

Hello All,Today was an interesting day.Do you remember when I went to carlisle and bought the replacement dash for the dodge.I had to drill holes to make it a for a dash pad.Heres how I did that. While I was in the middle of that in pulls my friend Bill O in his 62 savoy wagon. That car is so nice when you see it you can't imagine how straight that car is,every body line is perfect. This is one nice black beauty with air and a healthy 440 pushing over 500hp. Bill and I and a couple of friends talking mopars and drag racing made this a perfect day.Later on my wife and I put the jig on the other dash drilled the holes, sand blasted the inside of the dash.It had some surface rust, etch primed and expoxy primed so it would not rust Keep restoring Dave Ldash 001.jpgdash 003.jpgdash 007.jpgdash 008.jpgdash 009.jpgdash 011.jpgdash 014.jpgdash 016.jpgdash 018.jpgdash 021.jpgdash 022.jpg

Great progress Dave, thanks for the pics. Having friends like Bill and seeing his lovely Savoy wagon would certainly be extra motivation. As would a wife that isn't afraid to be in the garage and get involved...

Hello All,A little more ambitious today. We gave the dash another coat of primer last night. This morning we wet sanded with 600 grit washed it off and made it black. Now I need a place that is reasonable to get my dash and things rechromed,Any Ideas? keep restoring Dave LDash paint 001.jpgDash paint 002.jpgDash paint 003.jpgDash paint 004.jpgDash paint 005.jpgDash paint 006.jpgDash paint 007.jpgDash paint 008.jpg

Hello snakeeyes, Thanks for following. It wasnt as easy as it looks. The first time we primed I hit the air hose a few tines against the dash.we had to resand and do it over.Lucky for me the black went on ok.I had to chase the wife out because she was doing goofy things.I think she got a little loopsy from the paint She not real happy with the overspray that got on her.Dave L

Hello All, I'm making progress on the dodge. The other weekend i went to pittsburg race way.I met John J there and he is running a 65 coronet 500 .The coronet is a low 10sec car and it was eye candy a well put together car.We started to talk about mopars and find out he has a few extra parts for my project.I went to carlise looking for bargains and met Jim D he said he may have a extra part or two we exchanged imformation and that about it.One day while looking at my email there he was.He was able to find a air cleaner and valve covers.I later find out he has a Judy Lilly car one of one 1967 plymouth belvedere i 426 hemi 4 speed super stock.you can find it on u tube. It took me 8 years to find a good air cleaner at a reasonable price.
The MOPAR Gods must be smiling on you.

Hello All,Today I got my parts back from dipping. The only part that i have left is my trunk lid.The only reason I did'nt get that done is because the body shop needs that to line everythng up.I can't wait untill Monday I will be eitching, primmering and painting the under sides. We also got the sample back from legendary so the interior will be ordered next week as well.Keep restoring. dave looking very good who do you use for dipping in PA.

Hello Snakeyes,MEC (Maintence Equipment & chemicial,Inc) They are located in Nanty Glo,Pa.There is no worping or hidden sand to ruin your paint job.The parts really look like NOS parts when you get them back.I just found MEC right after I scraped all the under coat off my car. They do dip whole cars but around 2,000.00 bones to do that, not in my budget.Keep restoring.
