Ok guy's this one doesn't make sense to me. Here are the stats, fresh rebuild first 500 miles no problems
70 GTX 4 speed car big radiator 7 blade w/clutch hub all good, radiator looks good and clean. 180 thermostat (new) yes I even checked opening temp in water on stove.
Now here's the issue Car warms up thermostat opens, can let car idle for 15 minutes temp gauge shows 190 degrees check water temp with thermometer 190 degrees, take car for a highway drive 60-70 mph after 8-10 miles temps starts to rise 220 - 225 degrees , shut car off and you can hear the water just hammering in radiator. This all happen other night, so today did a rad leak down check dropped 1 to 1-1/2 lbs in an hour. Also did a pressure check on each cylinder pumped in 120 lbs in each cylinder no bubbles in radiator. But with car running I get little bubbles in radiator??????????????? Also did this, I removed belts, thermostat, top hose filled motor up with water, started with motor cool no bubbles in thermostat housing as motor warms big bubbles appear in housing HELP please, sorry for long winded post Thanx Max

try another thermostat. I went through 3 in one day before I spent 12 bucks on a good one and it cured my problems.

cavitation with the pump? also does your lower hose (inlet hose) have a spring it in? Are you sure its not collapsing when your doing 60? Do you have any scale from inside the block? Sometimes a big chunk gets in the stat and restricts the flow. I run the Evan's waterless coolant so I don't have these problems anymore but I can remember 225-230 on hot summer days and just staying home until later at night until it cooled off outside.

if the stats good...i'd look at the lower hose....then the pump as it may be circulating water too fast

So we have eliminated the shroud and clutch fan. Get a laser temp gun to be sure.

Laser temp showed same, What really baffles me is the bubbles in the coolant, also did the hydro carbon test that came up negitive Thanx Max

Bubbles like this?
This guy had a head gasket leaking into the coolant.

Possible head gasket issue?

No, there a lot smaller 1 about every 3 seconds, all tests rule out head gasket problems, Thanx Max

I had small bubbles when I installed my re-cored rad. I used the special funnel and got them out, though, it takes a while for the last ones to finally bubble to the top of the funnel.

I also bought the lower hose spring, as suggested.
