62 Only

Aside from the brake MS, what else can you see that is not correct for this 62 Fury, 361/4 engine bay?

The heater hoses are on backwards. They should cross around the end of the valve cover similar to the picture in Post 400. Plus I usually only see one aluminum clamp close to where they cross. There was a member who found the routing in the FSM but is was buried in some odd section like accessories. As far as the bigger air cleaner I thought that was an early to mid year 62 thing as I have cars with both that style and the smaller unsilenced one. Still a pretty engine bay.

I notice the white SFury doesn’t have a fan shroud either.

I see a black + cable, and the heater hose strap goes through a short length of hose under the 2 heater hoses.
The air cleaner looks like one I took off a 62 Dart 6 cylinder car.

looks like there is a smaller diameter paper filter there that loads from the top after taking the small lid off. I noticed a red/orange ring around outside of top lid. This would be the top seal of a paper filter.
The center of the air cleaner comes off?
So part of the top, the sides, and bottom are 1 piece?
It seems the center would have to be smaller than the filter to see the edge of the filter, yet the filter can't be larger than the opening in order to replace it, leaving the filter itself to hold the lower part in place.
Just clarifying, I have never seen such an air cleaner.

Black positive cables were correct for many years.

Fury, Not supposed to
Interesting, I thought shrouds were standard on everything by 62? Where did you find that tidbit? That would be one less thing I need to add to my shopping list..

2 piece metal shroud came on AC cars. My '64 Polara has one.

I agree with you about the max wedge Clone comment. While I truly respect and dig the factory super stock cars and have since I was a young boy, I'm building a 383 "stocker special" 383 2-4bbl engine. Chrysler built those for the NHRA stock class.

Nice job on the interior! Is that a factory color combination or custom?

Boy, that brings back some memories. I thought I was never going to get out of the inside of mine. And to think the assemblers probably did it in 20 min or less!

Looking real nice!
Thanks, I'm really happy with it and glad its almost completed
