69 gtx

Got the center carb & manifold, outboards coming in tuesday. Can't wait.

747 I flipped back and forth on single 4 or 6bbl alot. Finally I decided if I wanted to reach my MPG goal I'd have to go 6bbl. Besides if I got the hood I better have the 6bbl. Kinda like a woman wearing a padded bra, false advertising!!!!! :imho:

LMAO. Yeap I agree or like putting a 350 Chevy in a 32 Ford (that always bugged me).

302 They are brand new from jegs. 71 carbs. Yes can't wait to make my GTX an A12!

Well in lew of working on the car I have been buying some parts. Ordered a phenolic spacer kit for the carbs to prevent heat sink and boiling gas in the bowls. Also working on seeing if I can make a idle screw screwdriver for the rear carb. so far used a weld wire liner from a mig welder made a handle and a standard bit, got that put together. Now going to try using a piece of brake line to put the 90 degree bend in the cable then test on mock up. If it works then I won't buy the 175$ promax rear carb base plate.

I seem to recall a screw driver like handle with a flexible shaft specifically made for adjusting carburetors.

Well I got back on track with the car today. Dug the grille out to try the small soda blaster I bought for removing the paint today. Was going great till it started raining! Well at least I know it'll work. I have a extra grille I'm doing first before I start on the better one. Pictures later this week.

Got my finish panel back yesterday. Cant wait to get it on the car. At least the rear of the car will start looking finished!

tail panel finish panel looks great ! who did the restoration and chroming on it? Also, do I want to know how much it cost? lol

302 Bills special Ts Took a year to get back, yes it was very costly. Looking back maybe I should have sold it and bought a repop. Would have quicker and cheaper, but then a lot of the repop stuff I've tried has been not so good either. I tried to take the no regrets route on most parts but this is one that maybe I do. $1400 vs 800 for the repop. In all fairness he did my steering wheel, vent frames, & rear tail light bezels. All of that turned out great. This piece just seems like he rushed it to get it out the door.DSCN2667.jpg
