I'd love to be better at it but a large part of it is being comfortable while you're welding. Nothing about being in this jungle gym is comfortable. My plan is to get enough weld on everything to be able to put it back on the rotisserie. Then I can flip it on its side or roof and TIG the rest while standing up.

Spent some time repairing my fine China tubing notcher tonight. The only thing I got done were a couple of braces for the chute mount bar.

I was pondering my tube placement and the complexity of reinstalling the trunk hinge torsion rods. I think I left enough room but it'll be a task. Given the fact that I'm using a fiberglass deck lid, I'm thinking of using a hatch lift support instead. The bend in the rear upper frame bar might serve as the perfect mounting point for it.

Good idea on lifts. I felt like I was playing twister when I put the cage in my old car & that was when I was 25 and could see clearly without glasses! Looking good Mike.

Had to have a change of scenery so I decided to fidget with the fiberglass trunk lid. I drilled all the holes on the sides for the hinges to bolt to then cut the rectangular openings for the hinges to be slid in through.

Had to do the first test fit before I called it a night. At first glance, it fits pretty good. It looks like the lid needs some file work on the slotted holes to let it come forward another 1/4" or so.

These are really nice bolt on trunk lids, especially when you consider they cost less than buying a rusted up heap of an original. If any of you are in the market for fiberglass, check out Glasstek.
