70 Hemi Superbird Restoration..................errr.....scratch that........

Thanks Guys!

I've been doing a little research. I want this car to have Remote start, Alarm, A/C, Power Windows, Power door locks, and nice tunes. I've been looking at the Viper Smart Start. Looks like I can control all the goodies on top of the remote start with my iphone, LOL..

That would be cool to have! One day im going to have to break down and buy my wife one of these systems, Handy!

I've exceeded my bandwidth on photobucket for the month. Try on Sunday lol

Man that is a real bad wheelie for the Camero!!!! Thanks for the video, hope that guy can still tie his shoes by himself...
He's all good. Car will need a new front clip and a whole bunch of $$.

Im more then happy to hear he's good, That car though, that is another story :), It would be a great time to turn to MOPAR, I do love a lot of bow-ties but honestly the Camero is at the bottom of that list with me, of course, we cant all go with the good stuff, we all have different tastes, im glad im in the Mopar side though!!! :)

wow. hemirunner, downforce, downforce, downforce....cause your car is gonna be faster than that cheby for sure.

Wow X2.

That's just scary how the air got up under that thing and then it just became a sail! Perhaps some vents in the hood also to relieve any under hood pressure???

I should have that covered with the aerodynamics of the superbird. This guy went from a two speed to a three speed and it changed the way the car reacted. Keep in mind that when you're sporting 2000hp it isn't like driving a 13 second street car. These guys are piling weight on the nose to keep them down. Mine will be nose heavy anyway with both turbos, both intercoolers and both ice tanks up front. As far as faster, it won't even be close lol. These guys are running 4.10 in the 1/8 mile approaching 200mph. I'll be good for 5.0's in the 1/8th and 8.0's in the 1/4.

Ooh yeah!!!
Keep the updates coming!!
I will. My pics should be back up on the 10th of the month. I've been doing more work on the garage than the car lately and have a couple of engine builds to do. I started fitting the nose. I'll post those pics soon.

After tiring of all the work on the rear of the car and having modified the front fenders, I decided to get the nose out and figure out how I was going to mount it and what else I would need up front. The fender extensions seemed like an important piece of the front end puzzle.

I hung the nose on the front with some ratchet straps. It sticks out quite a ways from the already long coronet fenders.

Already you can tell that the top of the fenders were modified to match the nose where the two meet.

The very front of this fender is bent up more than the other side. It'll need quite a bit of work.

I started playing around with posterboard to make a template. It should be something like this.

I started to trim it up and fold the edges.

I refined the shape, added more tape for support and got it looking pretty decent.

The original extension doesn't quite go this far in or this far back or even this low. I'm making mine a little different. It will drop down to be flush with the bottom of the radiator yoke. The extension will go down to a lower valance which will connect to the other side. There will also be a valance from the radiator yoke to the tube type k-member. It will have sides to contain any drips or leaks. Yet another pan will attach to the K-member and extend back to the rear motor plate. This will also have sides to contain oil in case anything ugly happens.

I need to revise my template as I received some detailed blue prints from a friend with a real superbird.

Applying this to my template means that I'll have to trim it back a little to keep the lines of my extension close enough to retain a stock look to the casual observer.

Once that's trimmed, I'll transfer it to steel, get out the hammer and the rest of my crude tools and spend a week doing what DonC can do in about two hours!!

I went to the backside again and fitted the dutchman panel. I'm not going to weld it in until I get the rear window plug from Don.
