72 Satellite Gen III Hemi Restomod

TTI says to get your tune right before installing so you don't burn the ceramic coating, but there's a reason no one is running the stock manifolds. I assume I'm going to have fitment issues on the steering box or elsewhere. So if the manifolds don't fit, how do I go about protecting my header finish?

Yeah I know they say that but unless I was going to run the engine on a stand I don't have much choice bc no manifold is going to fit. To be honest, I don't really care all that much, it will be what it will be, Ma Mopar ran this engine back in the plant so I think I am good but again I don't have a lot of options.

I decided to go ahead and put the headers on. Good choice. Would have been a nightmare to swap them later.

I got the rest of the front suspension and steering rack installed. Nice to be making some serious progress.

Wait till someone compliments you on having a nice rack.

I thought I'd do something quick and simple tonight, but no such luck. I connected the clutch lines. Both the reservoir line and pressure line want to pass straight through the steering column. It requires routing them at a pretty steep angle to clear the shaft. Also the supplied line bracket is completely useless as it holds the line right in the middle of the shaft. I may end up using it elsewhere. On the bright side, the line is a good distance from the header. I didn't connect to the header just yet as the reservoir may have to come off when I bench bleed the brake master. Also I'd like the column installed to make sure I don't need to route the hose differently.

Packaging is always a challenge especially in that area especially when you have the power booster there

What are you going to do for an air cleaner system? I have been thinking about this a fair bit for my car and have a few ideas but I am not that close yet.

Yeah, in the same boat. Might relocate the battery, but I'd rather not. Still up in the air

Well thats not an issue for me as I have planned from the beginning to have the battery in the trunk, but I am haven't found an intake air system I like yet, maybe I will just make something but I need to get the radiator in along with fenders and hood so I can see what I am working with.

I finally got an afternoon to work on the car and got the front brakes installed. Nice to have it back on the wheels if only for a little while. It's riding higher than I want and I still need to connect the flex lines.

I am considering this kit. It's pretty inexpensive. Not quite there yet though.
