I've been unemployed for 7 months now, so I'm trying to work with what I've got, but the temptation is there.I would be sourcing a new switch by now

Without hearing it, it is hard to say but I would start with the axle bearings and make sure one is not failing. Then you need to move on to the carrier bearings.I put a little Christmas money to use and bought a cheap set of exhaust tips since I cut the turn downs off. They'll do fine.

Another issue I'm having is what I thought was a rubbing sound on the right rear when making hard left turns. I flexed the suspension all the way and did some checking and it's not rubbing the tires or the brakes. I think I might be hearing the diff, but it does seem to come from the wheel side not the center. Hard turns left primarily, but if I push it really hard right I can hear it to. Doesn't matter if I'm off or on the brake or throttle. For reference I've got an 8-3/4 stock width with wildwood discs, Moser axles specifically for them and a Dr. Diff tru-trac in the rear. I know some limited slips will chatter on turns, but the one I have doesn't have a clutch in it and even if it did, it's pretty loud. Any ideas?
Yeah, the spring doesn't put up much of a fight, but it does make a decent noise.Doesn't seem like they are hitting all that much but I guess it doesnt take much.
Seems like a relatively simple fix, Id be pulling the studs and grinding them down a bit (actually I'd put them in the lathe and take them down).Yeah, the spring doesn't put up much of a fight, but it does make a decent noise.
Yeah, I've actually done that to an extent already. It's not supposed to hit though, so something else is up because it only hits with side loading.Seems like a relatively simple fix, Id be pulling the studs and grinding them down a bit (actually I'd put them in the lathe and take them down).
I had to switch to green bearings with a snap ring for the Wildwood setup.Yeah it sounds like the axles are moving in an out. Does the 3rd member require a thrust button? If you are using green bearings the answer is no, but if you are using the tapered Timken bearing then you should be I believe.
Interesting. Mine does it regardless of how long I've been driving it though.I have the Tru-Trac they do wind up sometimes after long drives then make a slight crunching noise when turning as they unload as they have no clutch to slip same wilwood disc set up .
I couldn't tell you. I had a shop do the diff work for me. That part was out of my skill set.Do you have the circlip clamped on the differential face or further out oil can also make a difference with the tru track
I haven't seen any contact issues with the caliper or discs. Is there any contact marks on your discs if the discs & caliper are centralised (shimmed correctly ) there should be none if the axles are moving they could contact the caliper.
All my trutracs groan from time to time when turning sharply
No, I haven't messed with it. Bill at RMS is going to check the dimensions to make sure it's correct.Have you pulled that bearing off the axle looks like it is not all the way on
