Alcohol in gas

Is anyone out there sober?
I am now. I might have a sip after I arrive at the mother-in-laws later tonight.   The photo above is les than half of my collection. I am a few short of 500 bottles. I have a collecting problem.

I'm talking about a car and a generator. Is there any way to clean the gunk out without tear down?

It's 35 degrees out. 10% ethanol in the gas, even the winter blend ain't cutting it. Plus the heat riser is inoperative. Before this summer the car hasn't been fueled since the mid 90's. I've been running the engine just this year on gasohol, and I needed to start it today to get stabilizer in the pump and fuel bowls. So I start my 67 440 H.P. "max wedge style". Close the choke, start it, and ride the gas pedal for about 4 minutes at 1500 rpm. Then shut it off and let the intake heat soak for about 4 minutes. On restart it idles at 700 rpm nicely.

Because of the low vapor pressure fuel in the NY metro area, I am in the process of putting a manual control cable on the heat riser flap. The thermostatic spring is gone and the flap defaults to open. I put a 2" threaded standoff on the bottom of the counter weight clamp screw (10-32 thread) to serve as a lever. When the Dorman manual choke kit comes I'll use the cable to control the flap from inside the car. Pull to close the flap, push to open. In the 80's I ran a manual choke on the carb (it prevented the car from being stolen one winter in 1987). I've since gone back to automatic choke mode and locking the garage. I'll update on the success of the manual heat riser control when I finish.

Use this for ethanol fuels.
Works better than regular Stabil.
