I'm shopping for a 2010-2013 Corvette Grand Sport 3LT.

Anyone own one or have any advice for me?

I'm 5'7" and 165 lbs and still pretty flexible at my age.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I bought a c6 grand sport new in 2011.... drove it 2500 miles and sold it, ate 25k to get away from it. Every bump in the road it would dart left or right, wouldn't go straight at 40mph... GM said it's the wide tires which is bullshit.. have had cars with the same width/flat tires...

The launch control was fun to play with but other than that i liked my c5 much more.. in the C6 the computer takes too much fun out of driving, the c5 still let you get sideways and have fun. I could have turned traction control off but the cars like to turn around when they get too loose.. knew too many guys whos last story bout their car including no traction control :)

If i were to buy one it would probably still be a C5.. and they are insanely easy to work on.

Liked my 2007 Z06. Until the good looking lady at Starbucks stated: Thats some midlife crisis you have there. And I realized i was one of the very few C6 owners in the area who could easily get in an out of it. The others were really old folks.
Interior left a lot to be desired. Was very fast though.
Then bought my 997 Porsche.

Beautiful Porsche, I'm taking it you like it much better than the Z06? While I was a C5 owner I drove a new non-Z06 C6 and liked it a little better than mine, but little was the operative word so didn't trade. REALLY wish I had held onto my six speed all black C5, what I could have done to that car!!

I have a 2008 base with the LS3. I found it in Texas with about 5,800 miles on it (now 13k+). It does have the issue of not shifting out of park occasionally which I plan to address. Mine is auto with paddle shifter, which is what I was looking for. After driving for a while, I understand why the manual is preferred. I would like to be more engaged in the driving process with this particular car, but I thought I'd enjoy the ease of an automatic at age 64. It pulls hard, is fun to drive, and will get 28mpg on the open road. I can't lose $25k on mine as I paid $24k for it. I'd buy this car again.

I'm going to schedule a test drive. I'll be back with my thoughts later.

Meanwhile, I still have my 69 Coronet R/T for the smiles per mile factor and leisurely, smooth driving.

That's a beauty! Great color combo.

They are great cars IMO. Only car I bought new was an 07 Z06. Built it with twin turbos then realized I have more fun with naturally aspirated stuff.

For sports cars now changed to F355 and 993 C4S

I’m a Mopar guy down to my last atom, but I do like the C5’s very much. I keep looking at them and every time I see one I want to buy it. I think they are a very cool and sexy looking car.

I owned a 2006 C6 for about 4 years. The standard Vette with the 6 spd manual, removable tops. It was a great car and a blast to drive. People may scoff, but the Vette is actually a very practical car. There's a huge amount of room under the hatchback, and I consistently got 28+ mpg on the freeway. I sold it in the aftermath of the Great Recession, only as an over-abundance of caution.

If I'm not mistaken a C6 will be 100% in second gear when 2nd is selected. Makes for good traction in winter.
