Any Concord Ca. guys, from back in the day

Back then it seemed we had a lot of Modified production cars that were driven on the streets. I remember a small gas station on east Springs Road that was turned into a speed shop. They had a MP 56 Chev.

seems I remember that name. Bailey Brothers seemed to cater to dirt track racers and HP boats
yep

lots of GM guys used them at Sears Point drags
(Infineon Raceway now)
I bought a combo from them at one time
that needed to be refreshed, one of their customers was selling
all allum. like 13.5:1 stoked 377cid SBC, 23* heads, full roller
ran low 8's in my 23 T Altered
with my alcohol Enderle Hat on a Tunnelram mech. f/i on it

lots of front end early hemis run back at that time. I remember seeing a lot of shoebox chefs and 66-67 Novas run MP

I remember there was a popular speed shop in Walnut Creek. We had several with Bailey Brothers being the bigest. I remember there were several instances where the City of Walnut Creek opened the fire hydrants and flooded the street to prevent cruising.
Bailey Brothers had a shop in Vallejo , I think?

He may have lived down there before the time I knew him

He lived in/near Brentwood, Oakley or Discovery Bay area
east of Antioch area
(I can't remember the exact address, this was well over 20+ years ago now)
His shop was in Brentwood right off the hwy
as long as I knew him, for decades
before he was killed on his Harley
he was a custom Bike & chassis Builder professional T/F racer

his son Brent was driving one of his old FE dragsters
when he was paralyzed from a rollover at Fremont Raceway,
horrible wreck to witness

Crazy Horse #354 (IIRC named after theier old BFFB IHBA record holder)
T/F FE Dragster
he set most the records in
Nostalgia races, SCTA, Gary Meders, Goodguys, AHRA events etc.
my former Nextdoor neighbors in Pleasant Hill
car Owners crew chief Pete & Marline Kaiser, their son Fritz, Al Bush
other partial owners Don Tourte, John Picket, Arlen Ness (Bike Builder fame)
& even Bob Monroe (not an owner) on many TV shows
(like Chasing classic cars, RIDES, or Arlen's old show, can't remember the name offhand)
him/Bob & Don did a lot of fab work on them too
all were/was part of that group later on too
(many of them were org. from the old Alameda shipyards. from the 60's-70's)

fond memories, I learned a lot from that group
met a lot of cool car/parts, fabricator, welders, engine people,
all because of them
did a lot of traveling with them to races too, crewing for them
before I moved to Rancho Murieta, in 1997

Pete is stiff doing it in the NHRA Heritage Nostalgia races still
he's at a min. 10+ years my senior too, still has it down

Oh yes the memories
