I was pumping gas in 1981. It was over $1.00/gallon, but our pumps only had 2 digits. So the price was always set to 1/2 and then we had to double whatever the total was.
I don`t know what started this thread, but I remember my dad filling 5 , 55 gal. drums up at 19 cents a gallion for ethel once. Ethel back then was way over 100 octane too !I started driving in 1975 & gas was 50-something cents.
Those flash bulbs used to make great targets for a pellet gun. If you hit them straight on, they'd go off.Nothing like a small, semi-controlled environment for an electro-chemical EXPLOSION.
