"Blind in Texas" '71 Dart build

Looking good! Are you having to tape each body line for your crisp edges or just the real predominant ones?

Yeah Prop,I tape out every line on a car....even the recesses in the wheel openings. It's just how I do it,if I find the line too sharp/crisp,I'll drag the board over it to smooth it out. Seeing bad lines(ones that are crisp then fade out get sharp again etc) really bothers me,I spend a lot of time and tape at it.

Thanks Chargin'. I'll hopefully be doing the same to mine not too far down the road, and it looks like you're doing a knock out job. Just wanted to know your approach cause it's coming out really nice, and I hope to have similar results.

The bodywork sure is looking good, nice job.

I'm having a hard time getting in the garage these days, summer time, and other things to do. Anyways,I sprayed some Y3 on the front of the door, seeing the color may re-motivate me. And I wanted to get some paint under the hinges. IMG-20140121-00152.jpg

I found the original quarter extensions and put them on. They are in better condition than the ones I had prepped, and have all the studs. What's a couple more hours? lol. Also, got the trunk lid prepped,it was in great shape so there wasn't much to it. My bedliner kit showed up today, along with the base to paint the car.IMG-20140430-00224.jpgIMG-20140430-00223.jpgIMG-20140606-00256.jpg

X 2 Cool ride in the making! I like the color on the door there and good luck with the bedliner that will protect it for a long time and the great shape it's in, you'll be set with solid and pretty. :)

Slow going these days,I did get the inside floor cleaned and painted. Put on the new AMD fenders, they're not bad, just a little trimming where the bolt on the rocker lip and a little tweaking on the top where the line up with the door(in the stamping process created a high dimple).IMG-20140430-00225.jpgIMG-20140502-00230.jpgIMG-20140502-00231.jpgIMG-20140502-00232.jpg Oh ya,and lots of longboarding!

Well I'm getting sick of the bodywork,it's all in primer and I'm going to do the subframe and mock up a few things. Then It's back at the Super Bee.IMG-20140503-00235.jpgIMG-20140503-00236.jpgIMG-20140628-00276.jpgIMG-20140628-00277.jpg I also picked up 17 extra lights from a buddy of mine for 40 bucks! Couldn't go wrong.IMG-20140622-00272.jpg

She does look sweet man! Looks like a great ride coming!!

OK,I found a problem. The top inner lip on the fender(they're AMD's))by the door needs to be rolled/flattened/grind it/whatever! When you open the door the top outer edge will rub it! Thought I would pass this along, maybe the same on B body's? Too late when it's painted!IMG-20140701-00290.jpgIMG-20140701-00291.jpg

Thanks for the heads up. Pretty sure I'll be dealing with the same dilemma with my Dart then. I had issues with the AMD fender & Door skin on my Roadrunner as well. Fit was like they were parts for two different cars. Also had to trim the bottom lip.

I'm doing the hood, the last of the bodywork! Glory, glory, hallelujah! I can't decide on scoops or no scoops? Leaning toward no scoops. The hood is going body color. Any thoughts?IMG-20140708-00308.jpg

Also;I'm not sure if I'm going to leave the front of the rad support yellow,or shoot it in black?

I understand the scoops dilema...it's more work to 'undo them' if you don't like them. They would look great either body colored or in black...especially combined with a black interior and the black stripe over the back of the car.

Shoot the radiator support the body color. Only black out the areas behind the headlights and grille. It will look 'factory fresh'!

Nice work!
