Brand Loyalty. *RANT*

Yeah, I got endless crap from the Chevy guys in my neighborhood. But all that stopped when I took Mike for a ride in the 68 RR! He was grabbing for the dash and door handle as the rear end was getting loose in 1st and 2nd. Haha!

Infractions??? You serious???? I know the days are going by fast for me but it's not April 1st yet.

no it's not April 1st... I took a few of the Chevy boys, for a ride in a Y2 yellow & black striped 69 RR I had when I lived off Willow Pass with a 513ci stroker, 440 based with STR-14-6, racer brown cam & adj. rockers, 2" headers, 4 speed, dana-60 3.90:1, N50's Blah Blah Blah etc., that was probably only a hi-11second car, way back in the day {I never took it to the track it was a street car}, it wouldn't hook for nothen', I was sideways everywhere, 100+blast down Willow pass onramp to hwy 4, even with 2 fat ol' Chevy guys in the back seat & another up front...LOL... they came back from the little "joyride" with big ol' white eyes, surprized & said they won't disrespect the RR anymore... It was worth a set of tires, just for that...

Hahaha! I should have known about that car.

This reminds me of a white 69 RR that was right around the corner from where I grew up. Pretty nasty sounding and set up for top end not drag racing. The guy lived right near Walnut and Clayton Way. You are doing a good job jogging the 'ol memory.

I hope you all will back me when I un-veil my 64 Dodge nostalgia street and strip project. It is now in the paint shop and should be out soon. It will have a 1964 Ford Thunderbolt hood scoop with Ram air induction from the inner headlights. They were very popular back in the day...........................MO

sure we will...

Huh. While I agree wholeheartedly with the OP, if I recall correctly, in another thread I suggested the idea that "car guys should be car guys, and come together no matter what they drive" and the idea went over like a fart in church.

I had a similar system (based on a Ford) on my Pontiac years ago. Funny, mine is '64 also. :)

I'd hate to think that if I found a 68 Beaumont SD (a very rare muscle car), I couldn't tell someone about my find.

Those Canadian Sport Deluxe 396's. Are cool as hell, half Chevy and half Pontiac and all bad ***.
Thats one of my bucket list cars.

Growing up I was raised Mopar. My father always said, "you can buy a Chevy, but you also better buy a place to store it, because it ain't staying here." lol

I like Mopars the best for reasons too many to list but there are other ones I'd like to have too someday:

1969 Torino Fastback GT with 428 SCJ and 4 speed.
1965-1969 Impala or Caprice with a 427 for cruising.
Some kind of Pontiac Street/Strip car powered by an actual Pontiac motor instead of dropping in a big block Chevy.

You should see the grief this guy on another Mopar site recently got for asking for advice about a big block El Camino he wanted to put a tunnel ram on. They really dogpiled on him, I thought it was ridiculous.

The hobby is evolving ..., albeit slowly, and identifying the guys that are just rattling your cage is like trying to pick fly sh!t out of the pepper! The Harley Guys used to be the same way, but in recent years even the die hard Harley loyalists have become more accepting of the other brands.

Having said that....., "MOPAR OR NOCAR"!

... and "You're going to have to park that rice burner around back". :headbang:

Its not ridiculous. Take that $hit! to a Chevy site I would say. What was the name of the site? Sounds awesome! lol

This is funny, and dejavu lol If I wanted to hear about your chevy or ford I would go to a chevy or ford site to hear about it. I come here to see and hear and read about the mighty mopar, all I ask is you don't ruin my experience with fellow board members here with talk of your ford or Chevy or whatever, I mean I 'm not going to stop you but you should expect some fun ribbing from me for it if I happen to stumble on your post ;). I promise I wont hate you for owning another brand, that would be ridiculous lol but please please don't think your safe ;)

I used to be a mopar loyalist - but now have evolved because I had to.

I used to like to hang with mopar guys at the cruise ins and shows, but frankly - they rarely come out for cruises. I might get a duster or two, but a whole bunch of the mopar crowd is full of car show clubbing pristine machines that only come out for a few shows and never really see the road. As a result, I have to hang with the ford and chevy guys, the rat rods, the street rodders, the bikers and the corvette guys who actually drive their stuff.

Even worse, when they do show up, they look down on my car cause its full of dust and handprints because I actually drive it.

Don't get me wrong, I love you all and stuff on this site, but lots of mopar guys today are all talk and no action.

Guys aren't here asking for advice on what to do with their other brands it's a matter of people showing their "Car Family" what they've acquired or collected.... If a fellow B Body Mopar owner contributes to the site or wants help with a project and they want to show us they're other cars that they're proud of there's no reason to not be respectful... As stated a LOT of us on here are car guys and when someone wants to share they're happy moment of getting a new toy with us then what's the big deal... Sure you can rib them and make fun if it's not a Mopar but there's no reason to be rude or tell them to take it to another site

My $.02

To steer this post back on topic, stating I owned a Ford was just mentioned in passing on someone elses post about wiring problems. It wasn't a Ford post on a Mopar website. Out of respect for the hardcore "Mopar only" lovers here, I would never start a topic here about Brand X, or try to force me beliefs about owning multi brands on anyone here. I always put my Mopar hat on when I come to this site.
