Broke my 727 again

Hemi-Itis how much HP would you say your blown Hemi is putting out ?? I am just curious. I have always liked the basic 727 for a mild street/strip car as they have always held up great for me in 11 and 12 second drivers and so far I have had no problems with the one behind my 440/493 in my 63 running in the 10's but I dont race but a few times a year. But basically my 727 is mostly stock. I worked at a Dodge dealer for 24 years doing trannys along with all the other repairs and most were under warranty so I have a nice stash of factory 727 clutches and steels along with bands as thats all I ever use in mine is the factory clutches and steels. I use a bolt in overrunning clutch (rear sprag) and a reverse manual valve body and the Dynamic 9.5 converter. The rest is mostly stock parts. It has been in my 63 since 2006 and working great. But I plan to pull the trans sometime soon to change the stock drum since I dont have a low band apply valve body.

I see someone else uses the trash cans for their trannys also ? LoL ! Makes it easy going together when stacking the parts if you dont have a trans stand.
I know my buddy went to a Power Glide for his Cuda that runs Super Street as he wanted to soften up his hit on the tires for more consistent 60 ft times as thats what he wants on a car in that type of class so you can hit that .90 dail easier. But why would you want to run a glide in other classes when you want the fastest et ?? Ron

Ron,so far I have not gone much over 800 Hp in the street.Being traction limited my street jaunts start in the middle of 2nd 'tii I click high gear and have to lift due to stupit speed in the street. In your case, steel planets, billit drum,a good converter and a sheild or blsnket and you'll be fine:blob1:

has anyone here tried any of the Griner Engineering Transmission stuff www.GrinerEngineering.com for valve-bodies, I'm not sure what else they do anymore, the website really sucks it's better to contact them directly, the site is always being built for as long as I've seen it...LOL... Best maybe to contact www.727specialist.com Keith-1-219-718-3542 in Indiana, Steve Griner & especially Keith all he does is Torqueflites, they had a good reputation a while ago, but I also haven't been real active racing in a few years now too...
