Thanks for the photo's sir....We're going to work on the floors, hang the fender and then reassess what we are going to do....

With all the fabrication and weld work you are doing on your Plymouth, have you considered weld-in frame connectors? I had a set installed on my '64 Polara 4-door hardtop to stiffen it up. I bought them from Mancini Racing in Detroit. These weld to front and rear subframes and are contoured to the floor pan and weld to it as well. I think they are U.S. Car Weld. Having had a 1964 Polara 500 convertible, I know they can feel "flexy" at times.

We've already done it before we ever started removing any floorpans etc etc to keep it from flexing as much !!
I got these from US Tool, which is actually only 20 mins from my house...Painted them with rust protectant inside and out before dropping on Pans, and will weld them to pans all the way down once car is back on the lift... we only had to shape a few spots to fit the replacement floor pan exactly but very Happy with them Overall !!

More work on the 64... Front and rear Floor pan is cut in and Welded, Top welds are mostly dressed ( even Though no one will see them ), especially after Etch Primer, Rust encapsulator on Pans, Seam sealer on welds and seams, & Truck bed coating on Top of everything.... But there are no Pinholes anywhere, and they are solid as a rock between the spot welds on the rockers, spot welds on the frame rails and torque boxes, and Butt welded all around. They will also be welded down the Frame rail connectors on the bottom once we're back on the lift. We also welded up the belvedeer Moulding holes in door, as well as some incorrect Mirror holes and patched the bottom of the door in front & Back..But on a note....I finished the Battery Box, Stripped,welded the holes, cleaned and painted !! So the car is 0001% finished !!!

New Pass Floor Pan is in !! I still have to do the proper coatings. It just has etch primer over the bare Metal spots now, and Yes, I know the rear footwell pan is a Dodge....Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do......Its a lot better than where I started !!!!!

Got the 64 turned around in the shop so we can start the drivers side floor pan...They just riveted Tin over the rust holes allowing water to trap between the two just making it worse...fortunately, the rear pan is OK, and the frame rails are OK...... I’ll also be removing the steering gear for a rebuild, and Stripping the Engine bay, painting and detailing the front suspension, and adding front disc brakes since the front of car is more easily accessible now... Oh, and I got the 73' 340 Air Cleaner painted...I have a new decal for it as well. somebody asked about it.. It will be for sale over on The A Body page, unless someone here needs it.It was Bead blasted,etch Primed, minor filler, sanded and painted Rattle can Hemi Orange. could be Painted with a paint gun Or clear coated for a slicker finish. Its basically like original now.

Much more work on the 64 this week ! drivers side Floorpan cut out!! frame rails coated with rust protector, as well as new floor pan. Pan is dropping in great... We also Got the late model 727 back from the trans shop with fresh build and outfitted with the A&A Trans cable Mods to use a 64 Floor shifter with a Late model tranny., and torque converter... Also, I Sold the 361, 64 Torque flight & Cables & Push buttons to a local guy who's putting them in a 59 Plymouth he's fixing !!... I’m converting to a Factory console and floor shift in mine...Pulled the Steering Column today as well as the Power steering Pump. Will pull the Gear tomorrow, so it can be sent out for a rebuild. I will start stripping Engine bay as soon as its out as well....

Wow looks like you are moving right along considering how much work is involved. Thank you for your posting pictures as you progress. This is fast becoming a really nice ride. You’ll be cruising around before you know it.

Took a week off to have a huge Oak tree cut down, It was dying, and was going to be behind my new Garage addition (if i can get it built before i die,or run out of money LOL) but back to work this week. Got the floorpans all done!! Had to just fabricate the last couple of patches.Now to clean up the shop some today, and onto more paint stripping, and the cowl repair !!

more progress today !! cleaned tons of grinding dust and metal from garage and car. Stripped Door, and found more rust on the bottom and the outside,so cut all that out. stripped back panel, and rear of trunklid....looks like someone put in a 3rd brake light at some point...weird. Etch primer on drivers floorboard, etc etc going to weld subframe connectors to bottom of pans as well when i do the underneath of car...Pulled the windshield trim to cut out windshield tomorrow.

3rd brake light add ons were popular in the early 80's when I was working at the parts store. Same with car alarms. They didn't last very long. I dig the family truckster in the background.

Thats the "Wonder Wagon"...Its my parts Hauler !! 80,000 original miles 318 Ci Mags & Duals....I'll be driving it to Carlisle !! AC even works great, and EVERYBODY looks at this car....gets more attention than the Vert !! Hell, it won a Ladies choice award at the church Cruise in/ Show.... They called my name, and I just figured I had someone blocked in......Biggest trophy I ever got !! LOL

More work on the vert !!! Finding more Bondo'd over rust....sigh. Got the bottom of the door fixed and rehung and it adjusted good. Added an entire inside lip, and several patches... Windshield out, channels cleaned, Top of Cowl cut off to find how much rust to repair....etc etc. Prepped and painted the K Member etc etc

More progress today, Dash is out, Gauges out,Wiring Harness out, & started Fabbing up the cowl repair... there are some holes in the windshield frame, and the front band. We fabbed up a new front band, cowl Top at drivers side , & now will pull off and get rid of all the rust scale on the inside, find any more holes or thin metal, repair, rust treat, and then reweld top back on....

Progress, progress, got a ton done on the cowl rot repair.... I got the Trunk stripped, & the trunk seal removed and everything cleaned. Fortunately no rust anywhere in the trunk lip area !! Woo hoo !! Also got the drivers door and trunk lid and entire rear of car in Ospho !! Getting ready to pull the heater box.........

More on the cowl Fabrication....Front is made with larger, relocated drain hole. planning on inside to route all water to here to drain down inner fender. Lets face it, This car when its done will see only an occasional hand washing, or breif rain shower.It wont be sitting out under a tree collecting pine needles etc etc to stop up the drains....

Looking good. The cowl repair is the next large repair on my 64 Fury convertible, as I am repairing some minor body rust and door dings currently. I am not looking forward to the cowl work, but am watching your efforts and others who have posted on FBBO. Thanks for sharing....

When we rebuilt this area on my 1964 Polara, we actually epoxied a sheetmetal dam in there so all the water would drain to the passenger side. A small amount can likely get to this area through wiper hole, but should drain OK through bigger drain hole we provided here.

More work on Cowl....We are trying to divert any water to the larger hole here. I got my rear seat back from upholsterer today...I like it. He matched the Red front seats I bought from Procar.....

More progress.... Got the heater Box out. Terry is almost done with Cowl repair, and almost ready to put the new top on. Its all welded but he wanted it a little smoother than he could grind the welds in the corners, so he's done a little filler ( in case the body man didnt' do it to his liking). Where can I get a new heater core ?? I also have to check all the diaphragms, and the water shot off valve.....
