Finally got several hours to get back on the convertible !!!
Over the Summer, I had a family bout with Covid, Had an exhaustive bout with the government where they said I owed them $11,000 and my accountant assured me I didn't... But it was a hellish process...I WON but sheesh. Now, I'm hoping to build My Final garage at our current home. We moved into town several years back, and I rented my old place out. It had a nice 2 bay garage with room to park a couple of more in the dry as well.....Out in the country, I pretty much did what i want..I sold that to my Renter so I can now finally build a garage here.
Now, In the city limits in an old neighborhood with all these rules/regs I've spent months trying to get the plans for my 26 x 40 Home addition/Garage finalized where everything worked with our house and the city. had to move from a complete attachment because of the roof lines wouldn't work, the rendering below is what i wanted but couldn't do..., to a detached which we didn't have enough clearance from the existing house to the property lines, and now the garage is larger than 50% of the house size so it bounced, back to a semi-attached structure, and I still had to buy 8 ft of land from my neighbor, which included Full surveys of both properties, and a full appraisal for his lender even though real estate appraiser said it would make no difference.....and $450 later I had a full appraisal that said him losing .0025 % of his land Made no difference. He has a 295,000 house and a note for $70,000 yet they required me to Pay $450 to show that TINY piece of his property wouldn't devalue it enough they would be Upside down....Unbelievable !! Okay RANT OVER...I'm contracting this myself...I've since cut down a huge tree that was dying and was close to the Garage, removed tons of fence, and disassembled and moved a carport to my Daughters, Hand cut and removed MASSIVE amounts of Bamboo from my neighbors lot that I bought 8 ft of.....And they Graded a large flat spot at the side yard…. About 26x40 !!!! Now that the foundation is being dug and the concrete guys are doing their thing, I have a little time on a Saturday to work on the neglected car.....We got the bottom fender patch welded in, quarter panel/door Jamb bullet hole fixed, seam sealed the inside firewall & prepped to paint, installed the rebuilt steering gear !!
